BraX3 questions

Arrived at my undisclosed location last night.

Been busy setting it up all day.

Do we have a dedicated thread for questions?

@plamen Mine seems to be perfectly operational. I haven’t run across any issues yet.

I do have a few rando questions and am wondering if you have a thread for that or do I need to start a thread or tag certain knowledable fellows?

Heresban example. The AOD widget. I can’t figure out what it does. What is AOD?

Since no one else has piped in, I’ll try to answer. AOD probably refers to Always On Display. I would assume an AOD widget sets up what information is displayed on the phone when the screen is “off” but not actually off (personally I turn AOD off, I prefer extra battery vs seeing the weather and time by glancing at the phone when it’s out of arm’s reach).

Ah, makes sense. I’ll do the same. In fact, I’ll remove that from the widgets I use now.

Thanks.

Any idea if I can get emojis on the iode keyboard? I’m using Session Messaging with the wife and under settings I’m reading it say “physical alt key shows the emoji palette”. Can’t find that key. The menu looks to be the exact menu from the Brax3 settings so I think its not a Session keyboard.

Further down, under ”experimental” it says Android 15 under “Override emoji version”. The Brax3 comes with 15.

Press and hold the Enter/Return key, you’ll have two things pop up…don’t lift up and then select, rather slide your finger over to the one on the left (I think it looks kinda like an emoji…I’m still waiting on my Brax3 but rest of the family is on Pixels with iodeos and that’s what they have to do to get to emojis).

 thanks.

Now I gotta go tell the wife!

I see @plamen has moved this and named it Brax3 questions so that answers mine. i.e.where to post general questions.

So here’s one. Why is printing so hard?

I need a link to iodé’s manual because I can’t find it and I’d like to do my due diligence and try to find answers myself.

I’ve tried to set up my printer. Not happening.

EDIT:: I HAVE FIGIRED OIT HOW TO PRINT OFF THE INTERNET. THE PICS BELOW ARE MY ATTEMPT TO PRINT FROM SIMPLE NOTE.

idk how often I’ll ever need to do that but if you happen to see something off, I’d appreciate the help.

So I set the iodé blocker to none for the “default printer” and for the Epson app that the phone offered to download if I would select where from, i.e. Aurora Store.

Still getting the same types of things.

EDIT:: I have deleted the aurora store Epson app because the default printer works fine from the internet.

Yes you shouldn’t need an app for a (modern) printer on your local network - the printing protocol should be built into Android OS (whatever flavour).

I think the issue was trying to print from Standard Notes app. It kept saying currupted something or other and saving to PDF. And then there’d be nothing in the pdf.

:person_shrugging:

Once I tried printing something from the browser it worked fine.

Okay. What’s this?Iget that the iodé blocker be blockin but what’s Trebuchet (I assumed it was a launcher) and why does iodé not recognize it.

I get this daily.

I can’t get the upload button to click again so I’ll have to put the next screenshot in a following post.

Here another issue…

When I make a video screen larger the buttons to operate it are on the bottom of the phone screen. I’ve found that I have to tap almost a half inch below them and touching them directly has the same function as touching the video screen above them, I.e. the video player pauses and starts.

Yes Trebuchet is the launcher / iodéOS system. Try searching forum; it got discussed a couple of times in the early days so may cover what you are experiencing.

Yeah, this is the exact same issue, and screenshots, from 18 days ago and no answer for me. Or the OP.
