SMS is working but no outgoing calls over wifi
Did you get the latest update on 8/26? My sms is working fine, not sure about wifi calls as I dont use that.
Same. I haven’t been able to for months. It did get fixed back in the 6.x days, and sporadically it works (probably when my weak cellular connection is good enough). Now I just get a notification telling me to connect to a cell network when I try and make a call. My phone never rings- but I do get an SMS notifying of the missed call.
I rely on WiFi calling as I only get half a bar of cellular reception at home. These constant updates always seem to fix something whilst breaking something else. Phone is currently unusable as a phone.

7.8 dated 8/26 I am using.
I never used wifi calling, but I did try it just now and its not working for me either.
Add me to the WiFi calling does not work in 7.8
Any idea when this will be resolved? As someone who relies on WiFi calling / SMS, my phone is now useless.
Just going to keep bumping this until it is acknowledged as an issue
I’m on the latest 7.8 beta release and with US. T-Mobile services and I am able to use Wi-Fi calling without any problem - receive and send calls. I wonder if it’s apn setting somewhere that was not fully transfered on your update.
I’ve checked my APN settings they are still as they were on 7.7 before the update when it was working
Can you make and receive calls and SMS in aeroplane mode?
Just checked all APN settings again, and other phones make WiFi calls in aeroplane mode, just not Brax
I cannot make Wi-Fi calls if I’m in airplane mode and with Wi-Fi on. However, in the settings, I use Wi-Fi only calling under my T-Mobile sim setting and in areas where normal data/phone connection is non existant.
Thanks for the reply. It sounds like even though you have WiFi calling turned on, it is using the cellular network data, not WiFi. It should call out in airplane mode/WiFi on.
What I can say is that I have no cell network connectivity nor can I make calls without Wi-Fi turned on underground so I do know that it is using the WIFI data link - I cannot make calls on the cell network outside and not connected to WIFI with the setting on WIFI ONLY calling mode. Perhaps you are correct in that if should ALSO work while airplane mode is turned on with wifi on
Well, this has been an ongoing issue, starting about a year ago and took months to sort out. It was working for me, and now its not again. The last update (I think and am happy to be corrected) was in part to get WiFi calling working on Pixels using iode. Appears they may have borked it for Brax users in the process
For anyone following along, @rik is aware of the issue, via the iode forum.
I wish we could just roll back to previous updates.
The iodé team have pushed a fix for this today on the beta stream, working again as it was before the update.

7.8 is a beta update. Have you toggled beta updates in the updater settings so they come through?
