Does the BraX3 support Sailfish OS?

It seems that Sailfish OS is another mobile Linux OS. Would our phone support it?

Sailfish uses a closed-source GUI, Sony devices are ideal for that.

And u have to be in Europe too! Maybe some other Linux OS work besides Ubuntu Touch!

anything that uses Halium can run, if you are interested in some specific distribution you can either ask the developers to port the distibution directly to Brax3 or ask for advice from them and from the UBports developers in order to port it yourself, if you do it for one distribution and understand the process then it will be easily replicable, the core element is Halium and the interaction with the specific Mediatek blobs

This is halium:

How many mobile Linux OS use this?

Brave AI lists these:

  • Ubuntu Touch : The primary project using Halium, enabling Ubuntu Touch to run on devices originally shipped with Android by integrating Android’s vendor blobs and kernel drivers through Halium.
  • Droidian : A Debian-based mobile OS that uses Halium to run on Android devices, aiming to provide a full Debian experience on smartphones.
  • LuneOS : A mobile Linux distribution that uses Halium to support hardware on Android devices, particularly for legacy and niche hardware.
  • Sailfish OS : While primarily using its own kernel and drivers, Sailfish OS has explored Halium for compatibility with certain Android devices.

Any Linux running on Android devices, that is with blobs, only Pine and Librem aren’t based on Halium.
