FLX1s Linux phone

Browser wise compared to Ubtouch. One of the devs put a lot of work in and made a super epitomized firefox, but I also use Librewolf and with some work arounds use brave desktop.

The biggest thing for me right now is GPS is not the greatest, it seems to put my location in MN sometimes and does the same for other users. But when it does get a good lock pure maps works great.

volte, data, calls, sms, mms all works, from time to time I have to toggle data off and on but quick and easy. 5g is not really working in the US yet, I have good 4g for have only seem 5g a quick time in the big city. But I am rural and get constant 4g coverage. This may take some time to see a fix since all the devs live outside the US.

Do they sell it with Linux already installed?

Yeah as far as I know there is no android build for the phone. There is a UBtouch build you can dual boot with furios but not sure how well it works. Overall I like it, but I prefer UBtouch whenever a usable version is ready for the US, I am not a fan of phosh mobile really.

It looks like it has no fingerprint sensor. Is that right?

I do like the dock in UT. I didn’t like the pictures for years till I tried it-very nice!

Can u install Brave web browser on it?

Correct no fingerprint sensor. You can install Brave but it is a bit hacky, someone on the matrix chat made a script for so it made it a lot easier. Chrome based browsers in general do not work yet. But they do well with updates, just got the first major update and it gave better modem reliability, fixed the bluetooth issues I was having and made it much more stable, improved GPS though that still needs some work.

Sorry for the slow reply. Mine is a Microsoft Miracast Adapter v2. Model 1733.. which from a quick eBay search seems crazy pricey. I think they stopped making them, and people are charging a premium :-/
All I can say it make sure you port is powered (usually USB) and try to hold the phone close to it when looking for the initial connection.

I don’t know that I’d recommend spending the money on another adapter though. It works pretty well for me, but the wireless experience isn’t that great compared to wired, as I understand it. Scrolling doesn’t work in Morph in 20.04 at least, you have to click the sidebar to move up and down. And some people find the wireless experience unstable - I think it disconnects on them or something.

Too bad more phones don’t have USB-C video output. Sounds like Furiphone does though. Neat to read a bit about that, FrostDaemon. Thanks

I think UT needs a kernel module to see mine which shows as Renkchip-EEA4. I did get the BraX3 running iodé to see & connect to this finally!

Oh, I hadn’t realized that Brax3 had this capability! Many phones simply do not. That’s great!
That would be a very cool thing to see working. Unclear who’s in charge of the UT port for Brax3, but one can cross one’s fingers! (or do a bunch of learning and make it happen oneself)

UT 24.04 uses aethercast to see these display adapters. I couldn’t find this package by doing this:

which aethercast

So I installed this package within libertine but it is sandboxed in a container so I’m not sure how to get the system to use this.
