I’ve been running the Betas, and yes the 1116 version did finally fix the login issue for me.
Thank you everyone for that.
This morning I’m told by the updater that 7.0 is available and that I’m not allowed to install it. I’m told to look at some random wiki address, a security risk too me, for a page that does not exist for instructions on how to install this apparently useless update (because it can’t be used).
What is the deal here that the updater can’t update?
The non-existent instructions might have answered that…
That’s not useful, because users on the official release channel will never see that popup, and never have to follow that link. It is a problem related to the previous beta updater. Lineage has blocked upgrades to major updates unless a system propriety is set to true, which we saw recently (so after releasing that beta updater). A clean solution will be set up for users in the official channel.
Those of us running the Beta Updater know we are.
I have no expectation for the ‘normal’ users to see such popup messages.
The issue is we are told to read instructions that do not exist, not which updater is at hand.
If the information was there correctly on the Wiki via working link, then this tread would not even exist. We all would have just followed the instructions, had they existed and called it a day.
In the end we get to call it a botched rollout, wasting everyone’s time, including yours.
I am thankful for your help in providing the correct instructions here in this thread.
I just wish it had not been necessary to start the thread.
