Hello, is the Brax3 a 5G phone? If it is, can it be disabled or removed?
You can adjust in the settings to only use LTE. That cuts the speed in half or even more depending though.
Thank you for your fast response. I don’t understand why 5G is even in the phone system after Rob Braxman stated a few years ago that he wouldn’t put it in, and explained why. I just want to be sure that once I disable it in the settings and use only LTE that it won’t be able to re-activate on it’s own.
It does have 5g as I am connected to ATT 5G now according to the phone. I doubt it would just turn on, but the best way to check is look up top and see if it says 5G or LTE.
You need 5g as an option in the US as LTE is going to start being phased out. Some say Tmobile will be first to start phasing out LTE in the next year or so. It should be around 10 years in some form though, but they want everyone to switch to 5G.
I really hate those & #-$&$&#&$& people! Looks like I’ll have to learn to use Wifi for calls or something. I’m not planning on using 5G.
Two possibilities why it is a 5G phone:
Chipsets that do 4G/LTE also have 5G baked in;
Designers might have future proofed it against the day 4G is turned off.
To avoid using 5G, and only wifi, does that simply mean not using our cellphone while driving or out and about? That is what I am doing anyway.
