Is using my Brax3 Mobile Hotspot safe to power internet on my Windows PC?

Or is this potentially alowing Microsoft to infect my Brax3 phone?

Is there a safe way to get my PC’s internet operational through TMobile which is powering my Brax3 phone? I do not have Wifi where my PC is.

You could always switch to Linux and not have to worry about MS anymore like most of us  I have only found 1 windows program I can not get running on Linux and that is Quicken/Quickbooks. So I switched to Linux app Homebank.

Your probably fine using the hotspot like you are and hopefully your using a VPN with some ad/tracker blocker built in like Proton.

Yes, I have just started using Proton for emailing. I think it will work for me. I’m still learning it’s structure. Haven’t explored the other functions on its home page yet.

How easy or hard is it to switch from Windows to Linux on a new HP laptop?

I have yet to move my document and photo files from my old laptop over to my new one, so now would probably be the best time to convert it to Linux

I switched to Linux a year ago and it’s been great, super easy. I’d recommend Linux Mint.

You install rufus or balena etcher. Download the Linux mint iso file. Flash the iso file to a usb using rufus or balena etcher. Restart your laptop and boot into Mint and try it out! You can always dual boot if you think you’ll need or want Windows.

Switching to Linux is simple and you can setup a dual boot so you can go back and forth with Windows until your used to it.

I would use SEPARATE drives for this if you have them, but you can install both on just 1 HD. I have a 4Tb SSD with Linux and another 2Tb SSD for Windows 11. Safer this way as some Windows updates can mess up the dual boot.

Get one of the “Windows like” Linux builds like Zorin 18 or Mint.

My friends with 0 Linux experience, I suggest to get Zorin 18 Pro and pay the $49 for the extra software and extra support it comes with. Many hate to pay as Linux is free but I just consider it supporting the developers.

Then once Zorin 18 Pro is installed it comes with the Office stuff, video stuff, banking stuff and all that. So your pretty much set, other versions of Linux come with nothing extra then you have to spend hours going around downloading things.

Thanks for your commitments

So there must be more that one kind of Linux. I didn’t know. Is Linux Mint tied to Mint Mobile? Is it like Windows with different upgrades or versions?

Does Flash mean the same as copy?

How do I inform my laptop to boot to a different operating system before it starts? Sorry, these terms and procedures are French to me. And dual booting sounds very complicated and confusing. Which boot steps first?

This helps some. When your computer first starts it asks you to choose between Linux and Windows, thats it then boots into it.

Explaining Computers YouTube channel is a great resource. I would look up his video on dual booting and his Linux beginner guide. There will be a bunch of information that will help you.
