Problem here. My phone will not recoganize a flash drive that I have tried to connect to it. I just purchased one with a USB type C and A so that I can move photos from phone to my computer. Any suggestions how I can solve this would be appreciated. Thank you.
I was trying to eliminate connecting directly to the Windows computer, by using a flash drive, to prevent Goggle from infecting my Brax, as someone else said they do. It is an extra step to insure safety.
The flash drive I have is called Store N Go (16 GB/GO). The only one available off-the-shelf in town. I may order a different one from Amizon if I know it could work on this operating system.
Last resort is to try connesecting directly with a cord as you said. I don’t know how much risk that presents.
Verbatim Stor’n’Go 16G drives available from suppliers in New Zealand have a USB-A connector only. They are advertised as Compatibility Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 and higher; Mac OS X 10.1 and higher; Linux kernel 2.6 and higher. Which means they are probably formatted FAT32, and should certainly be readable by Brax3.
So how are you connecting it to your Brax3? With a USB-C to USB-A cable? If so, make sure it’s a full data cable, and not one just for charging.
Re G infecting your Brax, this is more likely if you sign in to your G account to us the Aurora store, or other G apps. If you’re not logged in to G on your Windows machine when you plug in the Brax, then G can’t know about it.
Thanks for your response. You said, “If you’re not logged in to G on your Windows machine when you plug in the Brax, then G can’t know about it.”. Correct me if I wrong. . I can shut my laptop off then power up again, login, then connect my phone to laptop via data cable C to C ends, goto File Manager (assume by Windows 11, it came with my new laptop) and then do a copy and past, phone to laptop, the files & photos I want. Then remove phone before I open Microsoft Edge browser that then connects to Google, I believe. Is this the safe sequence to go through?
This is what I have, and I have now solved writing to it from my laptop. See photo. Can’t add a photo to this text. Sorry
I have not solved how to copy or move picture file from it onto my phone. It appears that the File Manager that comes on the Brax phone has no editing capabilities. Can’t copy or move from flash device to phone. Not recoganized by file manager. What good is the device then?
Plug your phone into the PC
On the phone drag down from the top of the screen
There should be a message “Charging this device via ,”
Tap on this and it will expand saying “Tap for more Options”
In the middle of the next screen should be a panel “Use USB for:”
Select the top one “File transfer”
Your Brax should now show up on your PC’s File Manager,
and you should be able to drag’n’drop copy files/photos back and forth
Caution: at least that’s how it works for my Linux laptop, I haven’t used Windows these last ten years
