Do you mean Ubuntu Linux ?
-
download the installation ISO file, Download Ubuntu Desktop | Ubuntu
-
flash(not copy) it to a USB stick, on Windows you right-click on the downloaded file and there should be an option “Burn image” or something like this else use the Rufus utility, https://rufus.ie/en/ or BalenaEtcher, https://etcher.balena.io/
-
boot from the USB stick, if it doesn’t boot automatically press Fn+F12 or the Novo Button on the side with a pin while booting to bring up the Boot Menu and select the USB stick
-
choose “Try and install”
-
follow the instructions and choose “Erase entire disk” if you don’t have any important data or you don’t need a dual boot scheme with Windows
-
choose to install the 3rd party software which is needed mostly for multimedia reproduction and proprietry drivers in order to get all your hardware to work
-
Linux uses a part of the disk as RAM called a “Swap”, if you aren’t prompted to create one during installation you’ll do it after the installation with a command, it should be 50%-100% your RAM’s size, this can be done in 2 ways, as a file or as a dedicated partition, choose the file option which is simpler
At some point you may need to disable Secure Boot, this is done by entering the BIOS. One way for this to be done is again through the Boot Menu.
You can check whether this is enabled before installation so that you don’t encounter a problem later. If needed disable it, save the settings and exit BIOS.
Ask again for more details on each step.
