Out of curiosity i have a question about iode os using SUPL..and we know SUPL goes through Google servers. Most of us prefer Google get zero data.
This seems like a tracking privacy vulnerability. I was wondering if a solution to this potential threat could be mitigated / eliminated on the brax3 ? - which i love by the way - by routing all SUPL traffic through a brax server in the middle where it can be obfuscated then deleted making whatever google gets worthless to them. Or ..another solution that can replace SUPL all together ..but customized for brax3 or iode os users to mask / obfuscate ..or if this cant be done with iode os then implement on a braxos or ubuntu touch…i also believe obfuscating/ deleting / not using supl or some other solution would be another awesome privacy feature for Brax3 that would be a great marketing feature
For example ..a proxy for supl function…
- **Routing SUPL through a proxy by default
- Stripping identifying metadata (like IMSI) before forwarding requests
- Not logging or storing any data —the server acts as a pass-through
- Allowing users to disable SUPL entirely or switch to the carrier’s server
This would be an amazing privacy feature for brax3 to include as part of iode / braxos / ubuntu touch
Sorry for such a lengthy post ..the insidious nature of SUPL and the way Google abuses what should be anonymous public service concerns me and the above question / suggestion came to mind. I’m certain I’m not the only one who has thought of something like this either … I’m absolutely not a privacy or tech expert…just thoughts …if you made it this far thank you !!!
