Music playback does not pause for incoming calls

When music/audio is playing and a call is incoming, by default Brax3 does not pause playback for the call.

The preferred behavior is:

  1. Music is playing back.
  2. A call is incoming.
  3. The music playback stops so the ringtone can be heard and noticed.
  4. Music playback only resumes when the call is completed or rejected.

This is usually handled with Audio Focus settings in the playback app (such as Pause in Call), but these features are greyed out and unselectable in audio players with the warning “some firmware may not support this option”. But these features work on almost all android-based phones, so this is unusual.

Which audio players, please?
I’m using Musicolet from Aurora and the options are not greyed out for me. I’ve just reinstalled the default player Music and i can’t find those options, which might be another reason why I uninstalled it.

Edit: just noticed also in Settings > Sound and vibration > Shortcut to prevent ringing > can be toggled ON/OFF. It doesn’t affect my player settings, ymmv.

For a specific example, Poweramp; but none of the audio players are pausing for phone calls here.

You kinda said it, this is more an experimental deGoogled phone than a normal Android one, so some things don’t work the same. I noticed something, no dual ringtones :thinking: even though it has dual sims which most Androids can do.
