New with Brax, issues with data connection

Hi all! I’m a newbie with this phone, first few days in and I’m expiercing problems with my cellular data connection when I’m out with this phone. I installed my previous sim with my current provider from my old phone (if it helps a iPhone 11) and I’m noticing that my Brax 3 does not work outside having wifi. Ive looked at my data settings multiple times and it has all the information it needs to work, no problems on my carriers side as far as I know, I use BOOST right now. Let me know if this is happening with anyone else or if theres something I can do to fix this. I really want to break away from my iPhone and desperately want this to be my only phone. I’m also expiercing the same bug for sending images others have mentioned here before in this forum. Everything else for the most part is smooth sailing. Thank you for your help!

On the Brax3 you might need to create a new APN. On your Iphone, if you can locate where the APN is, copy verbatim to the Brax3. You can access the APN via Settings - Network & Internet - SIMs - Whatever Telco shows - Access Point Name (APN) - + … Create an APN exactly as it shows on the Iphone. This should fix the mobile data issue. Just an FYI, I had the same problem initially… Cheers

Thank you so much for getting back to me!!

I tried to copy the information from what I could find on my iphone. On my cellular settings I don’t have access directly to the apn settings. I found a way to view the sim info on the “about” page for the phone. Thats where I got my IMEI, ICCID and MEID which I realized wouldn’t be effective for trying to install a new apn on my Brax3. I’m not sure if I should get a new sim at this point. It’s a bit of a learning curve but I’m determined and open to any and all advice or tips for this! :folded_hands::sob:

I did an AI search and here are the results for the Iphone, “supposedly”

To locate the Access Point Name (APN) on an iPhone, open the Settings app, tap Cellular (or Mobile Data), select Cellular Data Options, and then tap Cellular Data Network (or Mobile Data Network). The APN field is typically displayed at the top of this menu.
However, this option is often hidden because many carriers restrict manual editing via configuration profiles. If you do not see Cellular Data Network, your carrier has likely locked the settings. In this case, you should contact your carrier to obtain the correct APN details or request that they push an updated configuration profile to your device.

Hope this helps..

I will try this! Youve been so helpful! I really appreciate you :folded_hands:

Okay! Update, I was able to get my apn info from my carrier. I typed everything in exactly and so far it still does not work. I restarted my brax and I was left with "5G " one bar and an exclamation point in my top right corner where the bars are. At this point I’m not entirely sure how to fix this.

Usually the ! means that you don’t have mobile data on. Check to make sure that you have that enabled.

I wish I had the fortune to say that was the case, however it had been on with the problem.

Boost is ATT, so use the settings I used for ATT and it should work. Make a new APN and use this and it should work.

I want to start off by thanking everyone who has been helping me with this! It means a great deal. I added the apn and copied it exaclty. I unfortunately ran into the same problem I encountered before, here is what my side looks like right now. Has this happened to anyone else before?

I believe that the issue lies in the APN type field. Does your carrier require all of those? I had too many in mine that might have been creating a conflict of sorts. See if your telco can tell you exactly which ones are needed and if they can explain what they do. Once I corrected, that APN type, I only get the ! when I don’t have mobile data selected. Hope this helps..

Hey! Good tip, when I reached out to them initally, I went through each section individually, they didn’t specify anything less or more I needed to add. Using this APN above, it does look like my brax3 doesn’t have the MNC option for input so I left that out, I’m not sure if this adds to the issue on why the data won’t work for me. That’s also why I left a picture to provide some context on what I’m working with. I wish it was just an easy fix for accidentally having the data off for it not to work but I have the data on. When I saved this APN, I restarted my brax and turned off the WiFi to test it, and it popped up with the strange message i mentioned before. When I connect to the WiFi it just shows 1 bar of data. Should I look into a new Sim at this point?

Is your MMSC actually http://most.mobile.att.net and not http://mmsc.mobile.att.net? ALso, I am using [default, mms, supl, fota] and I am able to get data to work properly…

Auto correct made me look horribly silly. LOL

Even after fixing it i am running into the same problem.

Also, remove the proxy settings under Proxy. You have that in MMS proxy where it is supposed to be.. Additionally the Port setting should be blank. That is recorded under MMS Proxy. Make those adjustments and see if your challenge goes away…

Horray! We are up and running! I am so thankful for your help with this. This is all a new expierence for me, cheers
