Rugged Phone Cases

Maybe I’ve been unplugged for a bit too long but….

What ever happened with delivering of the Rugged Phone Cases? For us folks who received phones sans our rugged cases and cases being on “back order” or the like?

In any case, if the Rugged Cases did ship out, I never received a shipping email or the case itself. I’m pretty rough on devices and this is testing my natural limits around owning devices sans the “Industrial” protective case.

I was wondering the same thing.. I have never received mine..

There was/is some shipping issues. They have had a real time with logistics and under-stocking or trying to stock multiple locations (generally logistics). I’m still waiting for my Rugged case too. I contacted the Brax customer support Team by email in 27th of January and they said that they are waiting for the Rugged Cases to restock. I’m still waiting, but I understand they are trying to get these out. The logistics is just a mess.

15 days ago (from 2/10/25) Plamen said shipping started for the cases. I am not sure if that is Europe or US or Worldwide, but the cases are shipping directly from the factory in China - and it does take a long time to get things shipped from China at the best of times - unless you have a really good logistics setup (which they currently don’t have). They are still learning and have had a real nightmare trying to get a good logistics company. It is a real struggle, but they are being very transparent about it all which is good.

You can track where they are in the process of shipping in this thread and also comment if needed: BraX3 delivery updates - #770 by george

So you are in good company. Quite a few of us are still waiting on cases from the first batch orders.
In case you didn’t know, they split the shipping of phones and cases up at one point due to lack of stock of the Rugged Case. The phones and screen protectors were shipped separate once they could not fulfill the orders due to the Rugged Cases being out of stock. So you may have got the phone and the screen protectors, but not the Rugged Case as in my situation.

If your phone also hasn’t been delivered (and you were in the early batches - not a recent purchase) then reach out to the Brax Team or PM Plamen to let someone know.

I received an email on 10th Feb from the “The Shipping Department”. This was the same company as the phones so I presume it’s the rugged cases on their way? BTW, I’m in Australia.

Got an email with a tracking number today for my rugged phone case :+1:

Rugged case received today. First impressions … nice case, could be a little more grippy and a kickstand would be a huge bonus since the privacy screen protector means you really need to have the phone at a good angle to watch videos.

Hi

I’m in the UK and I recently received my Brax 3 hard case. I have yet to put the package together - screen cover and hard case on phone.

I tried connecting Brax 3 to “3” mobile network. The network sent the Brax a cellphone number but would not put any credit on the sim. I got the credit onto the sim by using my samsung phone but then inserting the crefitted sim into the brax3, the sim failed to function and so I inserted the sim back into the samsung and used it up, thete.

It seemed that the “3” network could tell that the Brax was somehow a different phone and refused to cooperate. I have yet to try other network sims for having a fear of having a stack of sims with credit on. Which networks in the US is the Brax3 guarantied to work on trouble free???

Regards and thanks,

PS I did connect the Brax3 to the internet by tethering to the samsung and so it does work in that respect.

@Jsquared This should be moved to some other topic or create a new one. Let the administrator do this.

The carrier can know by the IMEI that you are using some other device.

First we have to assess what is not working exactly. What do you mean that it failed to function?

Go to, Settings > Network & internet > SIMs and tell us what do you see exactly.

Scrolling down you’ll see the APN settings, if they are not set up correctly you have to set them up manually.

The procedure should be similar to this, Google Pixel 7 Support | How to guides | Three Device Support

Internet APN Settings:

Name: 3

APN: three.co.uk

Username: [leave this field blank]

Password: [leave this field blank]

MMSC: https://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc

MMS proxy: mms.three.co.uk

MMS port: 8799

APN Type: internet + mms

Thanks George!!!

I am using the Brax3 to reply now having followed the instructions you supplied to set the “3” APN. It’s connected me to the internet.

I have always just put a sim into a new phone and “heypresto” it has always worked.

Thanks for the tip. Are you part of the brax team? I have seen you responding to some of the open_slate questions. If so, the speakers on this brax could do with a bit more power. My Samsung was an S24 Ultra which of course was a lot more expensive. I will try listening to music with headphones. I am hoping to get the open_slate. Hopefully, the speakers will be more powerful. I believe it’s supposed to have 2, hopefully quality speakers for better sound. Apologies for any criticism.

I just listened to some YouTube music over the speakeand it seemef acceptable. Perhaps the new sound just takes getting use to.

Regards

J

You may have to remove the APN and add it again after the next update if you lose the mobile internet.

I’m a user, for feature discussion talk to Plamen who is one of the founders. I can’t find any over-amplification setting but some apps may have such a setting.

Hi,

UK Brax3 user here. I am using Giffgaff(O2) on the physical SIM with no issues but Giffgaff(O2) does NOT support the Esim on the Brax3. For the Esim (second SIM) I am using Talk Mobile which is working well so far.

Reporting now that the rugged phone case is not really up to the description. I now have a second fracture of the screen in a “star” pattern after the phone fell from less than a metre onto a brick surface. The case simply does not raise proud enough of the screen to provide sufficient protection for the screen. Please improve this and also … how do I get a new screen fitted? It is really embarrassing to be “that” person with a horribly cracked screen alongside the annoyance of having to use the phone with a badly cracked screen!

We still haven’t got the Bill Of Materials, you can open the phone and buy the same screen model from Aliexpress, the phone opens from the front side with plastic tools like guitar picks.

You can also look into “aluminum alloy bumper cases” and you can also 3D-print a case, Accessories - Extra battery, wallet case, etc - #41 by 3n1gma

Thanks, I think I need to find a better protective case first otherwise I’ll need to order a few screens to keep me going :joy:

Does anyone know … if your screen is badly cracked will it fall apart when removed and then be impossible to refit?

I am nervous to remove my cracked phone screen to find out (presumably it is printed somewhere on the reverse) the part number if that means I am then without a phone until the replacement screen arrives.

Does anyone know the precise details of which screen I would need to order to replace the cracked one so I could have it ready to fit when removing it?

I have a Brax3 that was shipped with one of the earlier phone cases, it wasn’t a “Rugged” case, but i’d like to buy my own rugged case, looking at Otterbox. Which one would fix the Brax3 best? What samsung, google phone is the Brax3 modeled after for button and camera placement, i cant figure it out.

Ditto needing the screen…it surely can’t be the equivalent to the Loch Ness monster.

Ditto needing to find out which Otterbox Defender to buy…

Eventually, I’d love to use the step file somebody posted to 3D print (after buying a 3D printer, that is) a plastic frame to make this fit an existing Defender rubber bumper.

If only I had 30 hrs in each day…

Man, thats a lot of investment of time, effort and money, just to have a good, strong, well fitting phone case that will protect our Brax3 phones.
