I am new and still setting up my phone the way I want it.
Question: Can Iode browser receive my voice and convert to text so I don’t have to type everything I want to say?
Don’t know about iode browser but an alternate suggestion is an app called Whisper. It should work on all apps.
WhisperIME is a privacy-focused Android keyboard that converts speech to text entirely offline using OpenAI’s Whisper engine, ensuring your data never leaves your device.
To set it up, install Whisper (Version 3.7) from F-Droid, open it once to download the ~435 MB AI model over Wi-Fi, and then enable it in Settings > System > Languages & input > On-screen keyboard. Finally, select Whisper from your keyboard switcher when typing and tap the microphone icon to dictate.
I use Whisper with the Heliboard keyboard and it works for voice to txt. It takes a little getting used to, but once you figure it out, works well enough. It works much better using the “slow” selection and not the fast English one.
Also adds emojis back.
