SwitcheOn not working

I just switched from my old Pixel 5 with CalyxOS to the Brax3 with iodeOS. Most of my apps seem to work just fine, with one exception: SwitcheOn.

SwitcheOn is a remotely-controlled power outlet with cellphone connectivity. An app by the same name lets you turn that outlet on or off. (My limited understanding is the app connects to SwitcheOn’s server, which in turn makes the cell call to the unit to turn it on or off).

The app worked fine on my Pixel/CalyxOS phone, but not with my Brax3. The app seems to install without complaint. When I fire it up, though, the app’s main page shows for a couple milliseconds, then disappears. If I show all apps running, it appears on that list; selecting that app repeats the appear/disappear act. After enough times, the OS tells me “SwitcheOn keeps stopping. App info/Close app”.

I’ve gone into the iode app and whitelisted SwitcheOn. That is, I’ve removed all restrictions for SwitcheOn, so its per-app blockings are “None”.

Any ideas?

Further info: I’ve been in touch with the SwitcheOn folks. They requested the logs, and I sent them. So, to all the experts out there: Am I stuck? Or is there a workaround for this situation?

Here’s their analysis:

Firebase is the google system for sending push notifications to Android (we have optional notifications for the box going offline, usually indicates a power outage). It’s not available on the modified OS you’re running.

Here’s the error in your logs:

Fixed my own problem, so this is posted in case someone else has the same problem. Went into micro-g settings and enabled some of the push notifications.
