Text and MMS not working. Sim issue?

My screen shot attempts from Brax 3 on US Mobile DarkStar art.

Cruzer01 thanks so much. I swithed to T-Mobile’s Metro sim card right before I got your screen shots. perhaps I should have waited.
At least on the t-mobile network I do have data when I leave the house. no issues.
only issue I have now is that I can’t send pics from my brax 3 on messages (file too big) and…
wife does not get pics from me. I’m wondering if its an imessage issue or something.

The.finishwr222. Go to settings, apps, message app, storage, clear cache and you should be able send pics, I was having the same issue. Good luck.

IT WORKED!!!
Thank you so much Cruzer01

Glad to hear, seems to be a temporary fix, I have had to do it a few times, but I get my pics across. Hope someonenfinds a permanent fix for this issue.

Did you go to “3 dots > Settings” and change the MMS size? Note that I’ve had a few issues with photos force cropped to landscape if there are portrait, so I have been testing QUIK messages from f-droid which seems a bit more polished (and does seem to correctly auto-shrink the photos more consistently and not crop).

Rik, thanks for your response. I have. Gone to the. 3 dots and reduced the message. Size. Keep us posted on the app your using. I have also read that open camera also helps. All the best.

I cleared cache. Then … setting, change MMS size to 1MB, didn’t work. tried 2MB. didn’t work.
I was trying to send a 17sec video taken on my Brax3 native camera with native messaging app (with setting above). I just wont work. at least I am able to send pics of the kids to grandma now.
Videos work fine on Signal, no issue. but gradma does not use the apple app store to get it. Next holliday I’ll have to download it for her and with for the best

As a fellow PureTalk on AT&T user, I’ll be following your comments for when I get MY Brax3! Did your Brax3 come with a Sim card? Rob’s video seems to imply that standard practice will be to use the sim from your previous phone (…assuming you had one…)

I tried using my PureTalk SIM. phone part worked. Texting…welll. no matter what I did, or what settings I was changing. text messaging just didn’t work right. a basic message worked. but anything like pics, video, group not so much. I bought a T-Mobile prepaid SIM/Plan. at least group messages & pics work as a text. Not video. I can receive some video mms’s but can’t send them. I’m happy to do this. But can’t recommend to friends until thats fixed.

Check your APN settings to be what your carrier recommends and try this app, QUIK SMS | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository

T-Mobile seems to enforce the RCS protocol which is still not supported on degoogled phones, there is no general solution and any solution may stop working anytime.

Maybe small MMS can pass through but larger ones may go through RCS.
