TOPIC WAS: “New Zealand closed 3G - issue with 111 .(emergency) calls?”
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who responded to my question. Since the topic is closed this seems to be the only way to do so and to provide follow up. In the end I rang the 111 line and explained was a test. (Had to wait until weather settled after a number of civil emergency events, hence delay in getting back here.)
So, the Brax3 works on one.nz/Vodafone emergency network. I will change networks soon as the comment about offshoring one.nz customer support fits with my experience. I did contact them again when 111 proved to work and got same response (“buy a new phone.”) Possibly coincidentally, the txt messages, and the voice warnings before voice calls were connected, immediately stopped.
