Upgrade path from Iode 7.2 to 7.5 instructions

Plamen I have a friend who is on Iode 7.2 and has been unable to update beyond this. Can you or some else recommend a clear cut path. This person is almost 4000 kilometers away and not that tech savy. Any ideas on how I might be able to help her?

Kind regards,

Mark

There is nothing different about the update from 7.2 to 7.3.

Maybe she does not have a strong signal while downloading?

I like to make sure my phone is upright so the screen doesn’t fall asleep during the download.

It might help to know where she is having trouble.

Welcomer thank you for the response. It turns out she has 7.1 Iode not 7.2. She has not been able to update further.

If I remember correctly the update to 7.2 from 7.1

required an update that was then deleted before proceeding to the completion to 7.2. I think that path or interim updater no longer is available?

If you go to the iode news app it explains what to do.

Unless you delete the updates the updater app still had the updates. I think it can updated even at this late date.

Updated to 7.2 now there is no option to update further. I have been able to verify this with another new Brax3 that has not been used.

After getting to 7.2 options to update further absent.

Reboots and multiple checks in Iode news and the “Updater” app show nothing.

My everyday use Brax3 is running Iode7.5 with no issues.

Any help will be most appreciated.

@plamen can you verify this:

Are those of us with brand new phones yet to be updated stuck without the ability to update beyond 7.2?

7.2-20260131-brax3

Hi, i have the same iodeOS version 7.2-20260131-brax3 and No info on any updates recieved. Updater says Last check: 25 mey 2026 (20:39) so I am also a few updates behind. What to do?

I’ve been running the original version from the first shipping, and have 3 phones. Was going to updated one inn nut using to practice the method. Would suck if it can’t be some now.

Hello,

I am also few updates behind. I get notification in Iode news, but unable to click the updater and nothing shows in the updater app. My phone started freezing up and not running as smooth as originally, so I guess it needs the updates.

Anyone knows a fix to that?

This request to update from 7.2 was originally posted on May 23, 2026. May we please get a response from leadership from Brax3 developers for Iode OS concerning this please!

There are multiple phones exhibiting this behavior and this needs to be addressed.

I will also post this on my original repot.

Kind regards,

Mark

Did someone found a solution to this problem?

My phone is getting slower with every day:upside_down_face:

I am having the exact same issue, I’m at 7.2 and when I run the Updater it says I’m up to date. It’s almost like the Updater is not functioning properly. Ideas?

No thanks to @plamen or the team, seems they are too busy to respond even when they are mentioned in the discussion.

I have two phones purchased one right after another. One I use, the other was unopened for back up purposes. I’m glad I had the inclination NOT to delete any of the updates after each install on the daily one.

I just opened the new one to start the updating it. And I too saw that all but one update is missing.

If you have a phone with the updates still intact, you can update a new phone without the ota updates being downloaded on the phone with missing updates.

Here is how I did it:

Get a USB to USB inserted into each phone. Connect to the new phone first. Then connect to the one with the updates already installed.

On the phone with the updates installed…
Go to setting. Go to connected devices. Select USB charginig connected device. Select This Device and enter password if necessary.

Now navigate to the Updater app. Starting with the first update and select the three dots menu. Select export update. Choose where the file is to be downloaded. Let the download complete.

Look for the download on the new phone by going to files and selecting Brax3 Internal Shared Storage. Then select the file area that you saved the file in. If its there you are good to move to the next step.

On the new phone navigate to the updater app. On the top of the page select the three dots menu. Select local update. Then choose Internal Shared Storage and tap or choose the update file you placed there.

Let it upload completely. Once uploaded it will ask if you would like to install. Once installed it will ask to Reboot. Once rebooted start the process all over again because the reboot will disconnect you from the usb to usb file transfer.

Another way to do it would be to transfer them to micro storage disc on one phone then transfer the disc to the other phone. I tried that but I don’t think I can get enough updates on the disc without it taking all day.

But concider this: someone could install all the updated on a micro disc and mail it to another…

I’ve been on 7.5 for a while now. Follow this:

I’m not clear on what you are suggesting. I’m also not clear as to whether you followed this thread correctly.

Are you saying that file has all the previous updates? Are you suggesting that a person with 6.2 jump straight to 7.5?

Those of us who have a brand new phone with 6.2 can’t simply jump into 7.5 can they?

Update: After updating to 7.1 the preinstalled 7.2 worked… and 7.3 became available. I think we just have to get the phones updated to 7.1 and all the other updates will populate over the air…

Indeed 7.4 became available after 7.3 booted.

I’m not sure. Iode’ news said no a while ago for 7.2 but that may have changed by now.

I found a Brax download site and see that Iodes version 7.4 and 7.5 for Brax 3

have been uploaded. Sadly, I am at 7.2 and it looks like 7.3 was not there. I wonder if someone could upload it for those who have issues with their Uploader?

I tried updating manually from 7.2 through Local Update after downloading 7.3 ota but it just keeps saying “Failed to import Local Update”.

I don’t want to jump from 7.2 to 7.4 or or above because it warns specifically of complete data loss if I do that.

Can we please have some clear instructions on how to deal with this.
