2FA/MFA for my work...any privacy concern with a Brax3

I remember Rob talking about 2FA/MFA being another privacy issue in an episode a year or more ago…

What’s the latest on 2FA/MFA on a Brax3?

I have to run a second phone currently. I have to use both Microsoft Authenticator and Duo.

I am also interested in answers to this question. I apologize for not having a direct answer for you.

I am using Cloaked.com for a lot of my 2fa and other privacy needs. Others may find that this service may fit their needs. I also have used the 2fas.com app for sometime and I would think there would be an additional open source 2fa app choice. Would love to hear suggestions. But if a person must use Microsoft Authenticator or Duo that is a challenging situation.

I am also weary of carrying two phones. My original normie Android that I do business on and my privacy phone.

Would it be useful if a person made a work profile on the Brax3 and had Microsoft Authenticator or other iffy apps over there? Do y’all think that would give adequate privacy protection? What privacy leaks would be happening?

I’ve been using Aegis Authenticator app for years and it is very secure, no cloud>https://getaegis.app/

Thank you for this Aegis suggestion.

So my setup is not as straight forward. My “work” phone is actually tied to a number I’ve had since 1995. Its also the one most of my friends and work contacts have… And, even on that phone, I put the Duo and MS Authenticator on a separate profile so my contacts can’t get harvested.

I think my path forward is wipe that phone, take that Sim and get an eSim for my “really personal” number and put those in my brax3. I’ll still be running two phones but that “work” phone will be exclusively work/non-personal 2FA-MFA. I found a $5 a month card with minimal data on Amazon. The price of doing business as a contractor I guess.

Anybody have any thoughts, suggestions or additional steps I should take for this plan?
