I updated a unboxed Brax3phone to 7.1 in December. It isn’t catching new updates. How do I set it to catch updates and how/where do I find the zip file, etc for the 7.3 update?
Thanks you so much!!

Search is your friend, there are other threads here in the forum with that information.

Hi
I had this same issue. I simply uninstalled the 7.1 installer (if I remember correctly, it had to be installed separately from the original “stock” updater app to get 7.1) from Settings: default apps: updater. Uninstalled it. Rebooted. Reinstalled updater from the same location. Rebooted and then was able to get the the 7.2 updater from the respective stock updater app.
I couldn’t download the 7.2 update with the updater, so I did that manually from the release website. After installing, version 7.2 was not visible in the list of downloaded and installed versions on the Brax3.
Going to version 7.3 with the updater was no problem. And as mentioned, you definitely have to install 7.2 first.
I’ve downloaded the zip file but the updater doesn’t recognize either the zip file or the extracted file. Is there something else I’m supposed to do? (Note: I’ve read the documentation several times and even followed their link to the OTA to no avail - in fact they say the Brax3 is not supported iodéOS official supported devices - iodé ) Thanks.
What do you mean it doesn’t recognise it?
The correct file for Brax3 is this, brax3/iode-7.3-20260307-brax3-ota.zip · master · ota / release · GitLab and it is imported as a zip in the Local update.
Forget about tables, do you get any error messages from the updater? Just choose Local update at the 3 dots upper right corner and import the zip file unextracted.
Ok re tables.
Just “failed to import local update”.
Thank you, will go and try the “…”
Follow up: no joy, nothing new. Will leave it for tonight and check back in 24hrs to see if any new ideas. Thanks.
That’s a permission problem , once it was solved by removing and reinstalling the updater else you have to flash it with fastboot.
Go to Settings > Apps > Preinstalled apps > iodé news
And hit the bin to remove the updater, reboot, go again there and hit the arrow to install again, reboot and try again to import the update.
Thank you george - that’s done it. Filed for reference. ![]()
Thank you so much George!
This fixed the issue for me, if anyone else is stuck(and ready to give up) give this a try!
here is a detailed summary of Georges steps
”If BRAX Phone will NOT update,
Open Settings,
Apps
Preinstalled Apps
iode news
Tap trash can, then confirm unistall
Restart phone
repeat, but instead of trash can click down arrow
restart phone
reopen iodeOS updater and the latest update should show up
(if not click circle arrow in the top right)”
