A Look Back at 2025. And What’s Ahead for Brax in 2026

As we approach the end of the year, we wanted to take a moment to pause, reflect, and say thank you.

2025 was a break or make year for our project. We had a lot riding on the launch of our BraX3 device. Thanks to the immense support of the community, we managed to achieve our objectives and ensure continuity of what we’re doing. None of this would have been possible without the people who believed in the project early, supported it publicly, challenged us when needed, and helped shape its direction.

We’re heading into 2026 with a lot of momentum, and we’re excited to share a quick look at where things stand.

What We Achieved Together in 2025

This year was about turning ideas into reality.

Together, we:

  • Successfully delivered the first production run of BraX3, proving that a privacy-focused mobile device can exist outside the Big Tech ecosystem
  • Validated a community-driven approach to product development, crowdfunding, and distribution
  • Took important steps toward making our technology and decision-making more transparent and open

Most importantly, we showed that there is real demand for devices that respect user choice, privacy, and ownership.

Looking Ahead to 2026

We’re entering 2026 with a clear roadmap and a lot to be excited about.

Without sharing too much just yet, we can say this:

  • A new product is already in the pipeline
  • We’ll be announcing it soon
  • Delivery is planned for 2026

As with BraX3, this next step builds directly on community feedback and lessons learned along the way. We’ll share more details very soon.

What’s New: Our Open Community Documentation

One of the most important things we launched recently is our open, community-focused documentation destination.

This is a space where we’re collecting and maintaining information about:

  • Our products and hardware
  • Core technology and architecture
  • Technical guides and how-tos
  • Organization structure and governance
  • Community initiatives and events
  • Career and contribution opportunities

The goal is simple: make it easier for anyone to understand how things work, contribute where they can, and follow the project as it evolves. This is a living resource, and it will continue to grow with the help of the community.

Delivery Updates

We also want to share a quick and clear update on ongoing deliveries.

Phone Cases (First BraX3 Batch)

Remaining phone cases from the first production batch are scheduled to be shipped within the next two weeks. We appreciate everyone’s patience while we worked through supply and logistics constraints.

BraX3 — Second Production Round

For the second BraX3 production round, we are currently finalizing the last manufacturing details. This includes evaluating potential upgrades to:

  • Display specifications
  • Battery charging performance

Once these details are locked in, we’ll communicate a more precise delivery timeline. We’ll share that update as soon as we’re confident in the dates.

Thank You

We want to end this year by saying thank you - not just for your patience, but for your trust.
We don’t take that lightly, and we’re committed to delivering even more value to you in the year ahead.

We hope you have a great end to 2025, and we’re looking forward to building what comes next together in 2026.

I received an email supposedly pointing me to this page but the link it included was:

Redirection

which looks like a scam link. Have you been hacked and is this email a scam? If not then why are you sending emails that look like scams?

It’s the collapse of postmodern nihilism so Brax4 will probably not exist.

Happy New Year !!!

I start the new year with spring solstice on March 21st.

It’s a redirect from the mail delivery software we use. Not a hack.

We might have to skip to the BraX5 directly.

Happy new year!

Here’s to hoping for a smaller device, and some sort of peer-to-peer/simplex protocol support like lora, esp-now, 802.15.4 (zigbee, thread, etc.). Hard to get more private than off the internet!

Since I’ve been lurking as a guest here for several months now, and I am now awaiting my second BraX3 phone, I figured that my New Years’ resolution should be to join the BraX community….

….Voilà !!

Happy New Years’ everyone.

Thanks, but how am I supposed to know that? May I suggest you change to software which lets you send links that point to your own domain instead of something that looks like a scam?

This was my first time making the jump to Android and so far am liking it… or at least, iodeos. I particularly enjoyed listening to the FM radio yesterday while walking in the streets. Nice feature.

I’m still transitioning from iOS and finding app replacements (e.g. overcast) but am getting more comfortable by the day.

Also worth noting, I once got burned in a kickstarter campaign (one and only) so had some baggage so was crossing my fingers. Relieved things worked out, Really would’ve shot future hope otherwise.

So, thank you for everything. Happy 2026.

Shouldn’t that be the spring equinox?

Yes, I confused the words.

Easily done George. My favourite day of the winter and the one I look forward to more than Christmas day is the winter solstice on December 21st following which, slowly, imperceptibly but surely, the days begin to lengthen. Happy new year and best wishes to one and all.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The solstice lasts for some days as it’s a reversal point and supposedly Christmas had been moved there instead of September because it was an important celebration symbolising a rebirth. New year was starting with the equinox up to the 8th century as far as I remember and this is why December means 10th.

Nice one :index_pointing_up:

“I start the new year with spring solstice on March 21st.”

Supposedly the nature is reborn but anyway in the northern hemisphere practically you notice the improvement of the weather and the pollen from the plants that convey a sense of a new beginning and the approach of summer.
