A total neophyte (iPhone 8 user) here. Help!

Greeting savvy ppl,
I’m getting ready for the Brax3 arrival …should arrive this week…

Is there a tutorial on getting started for iPhone users?
For example, do people transfer their ph # to the B3 and get a new # to use with YouTube business accounts, etc. ?
Thanks so much for your expertise.

Who is your cell provider? If your iphone has a sim card, you just take it out and put it in the Brax3

THANK YOU sooo for the quick reply, Guardian.
Verizon which is not compatible ..?
I looked at the list and unless I missed it, neither is Cox.
Do you have a preference?
Also, would I need a second phone for YouTube accounts, etc.
Thank you again

For me, it really depends on where you live and travel. What carrier has the best coverage and plan for your needs? Where I am and my age, I use T-Mobile and am in their 55+ unlimited plan. But where my daughter lives, there is hardly any coverage. If I lived there I would have a different carrier.

As for YouTube, check out Rob’s videos on browser isolation. I use duck duck go signed into my YouTube account and don’t sign into any other accounts with it. The nice thing with the duck duck go browser and YouTube is that it’ll block all the ads

If you are receiving a Brax3 phone, I strongly recommend never logging into any Apple, Google, or Social Media on this device if you want to maintain your privacy. I would recommend using your old phone as a tablet and only accessing the data via hotspot on your Brax3 device if necessary. Not sure who would buy the Brax3 just to expose it to the most invasive big tech companies out there. I hope this helps. try to stick with only Open Source applications on your Brax3 device.

Thank you so much for the education, Paul. So .. I can keep my current phone # and transfer it to the Brax3?

If so, should I keep my current vintage iPhone and get a new number for it and use it for biz YouTube accounts, etc.?

Our phones arrived! Do I take them to a provider and have them take the SIM card from my iPhone to put it in the Brax phone?
I wish there was a handy dandy HOW TO tutorial out there…
Thank you for any help you can give.

So, when you get your Brax3 phone, I strongly recommend having and using a physical micro sim card. this way you can always take it out if you ever want to be certain your phone is not pinging any towers. Also, on your Brax3 you can set it to be a hotspot, so that your old iPhone can connect via WiFi to your Hotspot and access the internet just like you were in your home. You do not need cell service on your old iPhone to access the internet.

It defeats the purpose of getting this phone if you want any big tech applications on it. Learn the f droid and Aurora store apps on the Brax3 and try to only use Opensource applications and programs, you will not be disappointed and you will learn so much. this community will most likely share their favorite open source apps as they get their hands on the phone.

Proton is a great product and works awesome on Brax3. Aegis is a great 2FA app. Use the iode browser and get familiar with it. Do NOT browse social media on this phone ever!!!
