About IodeOS Premium included

Good morning, community! I had some questions about how the premium subscription included with our BRAX3 works, since regular IodeOS subscriptions use a username and password. I found this information on the campaign page, but if anyone could provide the full details, it would be very helpful for all of us. Thank you very much! Best regards

I checked with the team and they clarified that the iodé premium subscription is baked into the builds, meaning no registration or activation is needed. Enjoy!

Thank You for sharing the info!

Logically, that means a BraX3 owner who wanted to build her own iodeOS from source - instead of relying on the BraX3 build supplied by the iodeOS team - would need to pay to enable the premium tier. That’s reasonable. (Not that I’d ever do that anyway… just a thought experiment.)

…including returning the phone to iodeOS from another option? I see this is implied but it’s nice to be sure

No, I would be pretty certain (sorry I haven’t dug around through the code at this level) that the premium enablement is integrated as part of the brax3 specific code for iodéOS, meaning recompiling would include iodé premium. Reproducible builds is a core tennant of open source, it is not that an “oh yeah add this part outside the code base to enable premium” is added in… that would go against the open source foundation and would be a point of questionable trust if so.

yes, reflashing iodéOS will automagically re-include iodé premium. This I can confirm.
