Hello, without spending too much time on my story so far. What is the definitive answer to receiving picture messages and group texts on Optimum. Nothing works for picture messages and group texts for me. Optimum took one look at my IMEI and said no service could be offered. This is obviously wrong because I can make phone calls and simple text messages. Attached I have a screenshot of my APN settings that allow for calls and simple text messages between one individual. Can you please reply with a screen shot of the correct settings for full functionality. No one will help me at Optimum and AI generated answers are wrong too.

I randomly clicked on that, Optimum Mobile APN Settings for Android and iPhone 2024 - 3G 4G 5G LTE Internet Setting

As I can see he creates 2 APNs, 1 for internet and 1 for MMS

There is a setting for the maximum allowed MMS size, the photo shouldn’t be larger and the carrier should support the set maximum

Try also other messaging apps from Aurora or F-Droid to be sure.

Try to replicate those settings and update us.

Also random question @jooly - just in case - did you come from iPhone?

If yes, and you are using same number/sim did you deactivate iMessage & Facetime?

I tried for a few hours today again setting the APN to all kinds of combinations. (methodical guessing). I’m willing to change carriers at this point. I would not recommend Optimum for phone service.

I have Mint and could never get group text to work despite trying all kinds of things for a month. I had to switch back to Android.

Do you get a toast with an error code while sending messages?
