APK Cleaner is requesting access to [ All Files ]!!
I touched cancel, but then it offered to install updates.
I installed updates. Did installing updates give access to all files?
Should I give this app access to all files?
Also, If I have inadvertently given it (APK Pure) access to all files, how would I go about retracting that access?
Also, also, I found SkyTube in FDroid. It claims to import subscriptions and other features. How would I find out about the reliability of this app and others so I don’t have to ask you for every app? Or is that even necessary?
Open settings. Go to Apps and find APK Pure app. When you open it, click on Permissions and you can see what permissions were granted. If you’d like to remove one, just select the permission you’d like to remove and press Don’t allow or Ask every time.
I usually don’t give any permissions to apps that are not absolutely required. Try removing all permissions and see if the app still works. If it does the job for you, no need to grant more permissions. If you think the app is too invasive and needs permissions you’re not comfortable granting, try alternative apps and compare whether they are less intrusive.
First time I hear about the app. It’s open-sourced and published on f-droid, so if there are any privacy issues, surely there will be threads about it.
If you need to understand how reliable is the app - I suggest you try it. Apps that work as proxies to Google services (e.g. Aurora App store, NewPipe, etc.) don’t usually have a 100% uptime. Some work better than others. Give it a shot.
