I have a writing app that on my older phone I could load files from the documents/home directory. I simply selected the local storage then navigated out of the apps default storage up the file tree to eventually where I could scroll down and get to the home directory then documents. But on my Brax3 it won’t leave its default storage. Clicking on the up arrow that used to work does nothing. I have given the app access to photos/documents/music etc permissions but still no go. Am I missing something?
Do I need to root the phone for this? The strange thing is it works fine on my older phone. Same app same version. Although it is running Android 9 so perhaps that is the reason? Is there a workaround?
Yes and appears more so in later versions and not for the better. The app in question is Ywriter, but it is not a free app and only on google play to my knowledge so I doubt anyone would want to test it.
I got it on my brax3 from a backup\export from my old phone.
Use the open source Collabora which is based on LibreOffice. It’s a full office suite available on Aurora.
As I can see it’s something specialized, you can extract the apk file and give it to someone for testing. I don’t remember how you extract the apk but you can search on the internet.
Probably an easy way is to select “Manual Download” in Aurora.
While that would work, I would end up doing a bit of converting back and forth and the idea of the android app is to save time and have all the notes about the current project on hand.
As for extracting, the download option didnt work. Maybe if I logged in which I am not going to do. How I got it on my Brax3 was using SAI tool on my old phone then copyed the apk to Brax3.
On Aurora you have to log into Google for paid apps. Since you have the apk upload it to some file sharing service through VPN or at the brax.me website.
