Do I HAVE to sign into Aurora with my Google Play Store account creds to download an App onto my new Brax3? If I do not sign in using my Google creds (which I don’t wanna do lest they associate my pristine Brax3 with my old tracked and tainted Google profile) or if I try to sign in with the “anonymous” username provided ([email protected]) then everytime I attempt to download an App, I find myself in an infinite wait loop with the cursor spinning round and round. I never even had to sign in when using the Google Play Store on my Samsung Android phone but it seems that I’m gonna have to sign into my Google account when using Aurora on my Brax3. Is there some trick to getting Aurora to work without signing into my Google account?
Aurora is prompting to sign in with Google Play Store credentials on my brand new Brax3 2026 version
I had a similar issue in the beginning. My solution was to start over from basic. So I reset the phone erased all data and started over. Things that didn’t work started to work for me. Also, another is a setting under network & internet (Connectivity Check) that once I turned off, things worked much better. Hope this helps…
Thanks a lot rasjah. So one does not have to sign in to Google to get Aurora to work. Do you remember if you used that anonymous account that seems preloaded in Aurora? I had 2 preloaded accounts to choose to log in with (the other being Google). Or did you just not choose any account to log in with and it seemed to download Apps ok after the reset?
Log into anonymous…
If you don’t see the anonymous login shut it down and bring it up again.
Never login with Google.
After the first time of logining in the app will log you (anonymously) automatically.
Occassionally you’ll have to start again at the login screen.
Anonymous only!! However, I’ve always wondered about the apps downloaded that need a username and password to function……
I really appreciate it folks! Restarting the phone fixed the problem. When I relaunched Aurora, I was logged in as anonymous and could download the Arlo camera app I needed. Didn’t have to reset the phone thankfully cuz I didn’t know how much I’d lose and would have needed to restore that they “preloaded” at the factory for me.
My issue now is I can’t seem to find “MicroG Services” and “MicroG Companion” Apps but i’m sure they are there cuz I can see ‘em under SETTINGS/APPS/SEE ALL APPS but can’t find the icon to launch them. They are not on the all Apps screen you get after swiping upward from the home screen.
You don’t launch those. They run in the background.
In settings you can find micro g settings but that is you need to mess with.
I read something in the Iode’ users manual about it and thought you had to launch it but ok, thanks for that FrostDaemon.
