Aurora Store "Oops, You are rate limited"

This just happened to me. I turned Orbot off but still got “you’re rate limited”.

I tried to see if I could update it from F-Droid but eventually uninstalled it.

Then I got rate limited again. Turned or it back on and it worked.

:man_shrugging:

My exit point for Tor through Orbot was the US before and after.

I had that too a few days, suddenly yesterday I got in again. No idea why, but happy

It’s usually the Aurora to Play Store connection causing the issue, as G seem to regularly disrupt it as @plamen has mentioned. So is hopefully transient and will disappear at a random time in a few hours or worst case a couple of days…

…but may also want to try accessing at randomly different times (e.g. very late at night or very early morning) in case it’s related to traffic volume so during the day or early evening will be bad times to try.

But also not be constantly opening Aurora on your device either - I think you need to plan when you are going to go in there, do everything you need to do in one ‘hit’, then exit and ideally don’t access it again for several days or longer if possible.

By the way, we have a project in our engineering pipeline that will be an alternative to aurora app store. It resolves the rate limit which has always been a pain with aurora.

Sounds great, when do you think it will be available?

We’re sitting on a prototype for a while. We refocused our team on iodeOS WiFi issues. Once we refocus the team again we will share an update with some estimate.

Great Tip! I’ve just changed mine!

Yes - it’s 3 hours I think (or maybe 1 hour)… I had mine on 6…
