Battery charging speed

I read the update on the next shipment being delayed and one reason was to do a update for the slow battery charging.

In future is this something current Brax3 owners will be able to do such as replacing the battery for a faster one? Or is this a main board change?

It’s the charging chip, probably you can replace the part the at a repair shop if you get the part number and buy it from some supplier like aliexpress.

Ah and can do surface mount soldering. Oh well. I suspected it wouldn’t be the battery but had hopes.

Ask plamen for more information, I hope that there isn’t any other change on the motherboard else if possible you’ll have to solder cables and maybe even more modifications may be necessary.

I will have that double check the details and revert back.

I would really appreciate a Pinephone style documentation, that is board schematics and Bill Of Materials, I am reluctant to opening my phone, maybe if you start selling “dead devices” I could do some work on it though any device should be fixable, I reckon that there is no secret in that since anyone can open the phone and make a diagram, I also understand that this concerns only a minority of curious users but it helps the technical side of the open-source-ness of the device

This is valid. We are working on publishing these documentations. It’s taking us longer with the BraX3 than we thought, but we should be able to release those soon, and be able to release those from day 1 for future projects.

Thank you!!!

Grabbing the opportunity, why this can’t be done easily with AI ? This reinforces my position that AI is just a hoax mostly used to censor online material and spy on people but nothing more, except maybe mostly virtual girlfriends.

Also I will be expecting the following,

Brax4 Mad Max
Brax5 Post-Apocalypse

The issue isn’t really our capacity (with or without AI) to deliver the documentation. The issue is that publishing information needs to pass through several approvals first (from supply chain partners). We may have underestimated this initially, but we’re on track to post stuff very soon.

Patiently looking for this. “As built” diagrams, accurate component descriptions and power supply Test points used for calibration and alignment.
