Interesting, Not that I love ATT or any big phone company (All have plus/minus), But ATT gives the best coverage in my area. I waited Until on Brax me site it said ATT was approved. I queried about ATT approval several times and said I would not purchase until ATT worked. While T Mobil also works, albeit not as well in our area, I did not want to change from what I KNOW works now.
We will see… Solving problems makes the worldd go round (Better)
Cellular telephony is very complicated because practically everyone leases the same infrastructure, AT&T doesn’t reject the IMEI but some towers use for example band 48 (which most carriers have officially dropped) not supported by Brax3, this means that chasing specific modem characteristics would lead to a smaller number of possible SoCs and probably higher price. The outcome of this process is that “support” from a carrier is a relatively wide term that can change overtime. This also means that it could improve if this band is eventually dropped by the towers, nonetheless the cellular network remains a very complicated infrastructure. In the EU even GSM and 2G still work, only some carriers have dropped 3G which has been merged into 4G and there is no problem with Brax, all the problems come from the US and a little from Australia. In the EU the IMEI is rejected only in the case of devices reported as stolen, nobody cares what device you are using.
No issues or disruption on my phone. You need to also consider your mobile provider where you got the sim. You have three choices in the US, at&t, Verizon or T-Mobile. All others are just resellers.
Hey gang, Like a week ago My ATT network cut my Brax3 off and Patriot had to switch me to T-Mobile. Had phone service but not internet. They wanted me to edit my APN setting. It didnt work. I finally got T-mobile to give me data by creating a new APN separate to the original.
Hello, yes you can add a new APN (Even if a old one has same settings) and your ATT will work with Patriot mobile. However, in my case. I never got ATT 5g , so I used patriot mobile, and yes, had to do the APN as stated on T-Mobil website and I get 5g Ultra.
I’ve been having the same issue. Suddenly after months of no issues, I’m not able to connect to mobile data. I’ll try adding the APN as listed above and will report the results. I have Patriot Mobile with a Brax3 also.
It was the APN. I called Patriot Mobile and set the APN settings and lo and behold, I’m connected to mobile data again. Looks like it’s back to normal. Thanks, everyone for your inputs and suggestions.
My Brax3 has been working on ATT for some time. Recently it fell off - discouraging. But today I read the posts here about the APN (Access Point Names) setting (a choice at the bottom of the ATT Sim settings). Adding a new one for Brax3 and then rebooting the phone got me back. My guess would be an update clobbered the previous APN. There are ENHANCEDPHONE and NXTGENPHONE. I didn’t notice any difference between them except the name so I went with Adding a new on named Brax3 and ENHANCEDPHONE and put the settings in (many don’t need to be set). There is a copy below under dwc’s posting. THANKS ALL!
Glad it worked my friend, In my area, I was using ATT, and patriot sent me a T-Mobile sim, same service, much faster speeds. Always keep your options open
