Throw inside the port melting-gun silicone and after it solidifies just remove it and it will take out the dirt.
The port should be a common commercial one , you can send the phone to a repair shop but in that case show them exactly how to open it.
I tried the silicone gun and now I can’t get all the silicone out. I also think I might have broken something inside.
I have never opened the phone before, its just using a heat pad isn’t it?
Also, If someone has a link to the part needed I would appreciate it.
Thanks!
Turn it off and use a thin needle to remove the silicone and then check the charging again.
The phone opens with a guitar pick without any heating as far as I remember.
Ask plamen for those technical details.
here is the exploding diagram, BraX3 - Full Device Specifications - #20 by xancudo
it seems that case opens from the side of the screen, not the back side, you can also watch the assembly GIF-like video if you scroll down on the Indiegogo website, the port is soldered on a small daughter board, https://www.indiegogo.com/en/projects/braxtechnologies/brax3-the-most-privacy-friendly-smartphone#/section/project-story
Dear @plamen ,
Could you please provide the way to disassemble the Brax3 phone? Also, please list the model number of the part for replacing the USB port and if possible a link to buying it.
I would really appreciate it as my phone now won’t charge and is not usable.
I tried removing the silicone with a needle but I think the soldering broke as it was only charging with one side of the USB cable before it stopped charging completely. I need a replacement part.
Thanks!
