Brax3-Iode 7.5-issues

I recently got my phone and did the upgrade to 7.5. I did not test the phone prior.. After the upgrade I noticed the following below and as a result no SIM is installed.

  1. WiFi would connect to AP get IP address but showed “Connected/No internet access” even though I was able to get to some sites.

  2. Installed IodeOS version is 7.5-20260519-brax3

  3. WiFi icon displayed a “!” by it even after doing a reset and reconfigure.

  4. Hidden SSID or not, same outcome with WiFi connection.

  5. Web browsing worked for most sites but random - No Internet - failures.

  6. My CalyxOS phone has no issues with same AP, Connectivity or App function.

  7. Installed apps like “USAA” would indicate – “No Internet” - and would not allow connection.

I know there is a lot here but hopefully “support” can answer them for all.

7.5 is ok for me. My phone is from the first batch from last August (when it got here) and at the time it did have WiFi issues. I have 3 routers in my house and the phone saw all these but could not validate passwords on 2 of the routers. The third one is a small travel router that worked right away. Before I found that out I wired in an ethernet cable using a USB-C network adapter from Belkin.

I would say see what’s in the house so u can use another internet source-either WiFi or wired. Try your SIM card to get internet if there is nothing else!

Thanks for the tip. I’ve tried resetting my WiFi settings and still get the same. My setup is a little different, where I have AP’s for 5 and 2.4Ghz separately. A single router that provides IP for the connections. Even with the reset, I still get the WiFi with the exclamation (!) sign beside it. I’ve done the off/on idea and still the same thing. Some of my apps seems to work but slowly, while others just give the no internet error. When I tried the ethernet connection - that works fine with my other non-brax3 - phone, everything works as advertised. So, not sure if I have a defective phone or issues with the OS. Either way, I am very, very hesitant to go through the SIM change process since my telco requires the IMEI to activate the phone. My thought process is that if I am having issues trying local Wifi connection, then my SIM insert will not fix the issues. Thanks.

The minimal tech ability I thought i had has been crushed by the use of this phone.
So I saw in updater that 7.5 was ready- hit install> about 20 min go by I look and see that 20% is done and 2 Hours are left>hit pause and started looking.
Seems there’s somewhere else I was to be getting the updates from? I thought that was a one time thing.
Would a reasonable person update now? Reasonable , but lacking in skill?
Thanks.

Dees, not sre abolut the “reasonable” person idea… Lol. I did the update without installing any new apps. It worked fine but the network - WiFi - does not work properly. I’ve seen post that refer to 7.5 being the fix but so far that has not turned out correct for me. Additionally, Iode has some type of app blocker that restricts the functionality of the apps. If you wanted to make a “custom” change it said you needed the premium version of Iode. This requires an account an payment if you use their web access. From what I have read, Brax has it’s own server and we are supposed to be on the premium version for the life of the phone. I guess the Brax team have some issues they need to solve before we can get a smooth OS with mininmal issues. Hang in there and lets hope the Brax team is proactive in the fixes and communication to the users of the Brax3….

I think the problem is that router you’re using and the SIM card with proper APN settings would solve things.

Try this for now to disable that ! u are seeing and which may be preventing apps from working. From phone settings>network & internet and then disable Connectivity Check.

A reboot may be needed too!

I replied initially without looking and saw that you have now resolved your issue. Most excellent. I am still unsure as to do I go on with the update on updater???
I am gonna give it a whirl…

Dees, I spoke too soon. The apps do work now but are slow almost like every page is verified in the background before showing on screen. I will work with it and maybe there is a similar - connectivity check - type option that can be disabled. Learning more everyday about this phone.

I said I was going to give it a whirl, lol. Then I went to it again in updater, hit resume, it is telling me it will take 3-4 more hours and I am now at 30%. I chickened out hit pause, and here I am.
Oh yeah it is a learning experience all right. I am not tech oriented at all and I came from an apple. Mostly I am at the point of quiet desparation :squinting_face_with_tongue:

I cannot find the 7.5 update anywhere. I look manually and auto update says all is good even though I’m running 7.2!

I tried the local update and got the 7.6 beta. Have you gone to the website via your computer? Do you have a “!” on your WiFi icon?

No I have not went to the website via my computer But I have not had to before.

I just now checked local and I do not see anything there. I have auto updates on and I hit the refresh for local nothing there.

In the updater preferences enable show beta updates to see them. The final 7.6 release should be out by the end of the month on the BraX server!
