Brax3 will not work on US Mobile’s Dark Star system, which is their MVNO name for AT&T.
The phone can send and receive calls and SMS, but no data. “Mobile data” was toggled “on” and the phone did indicate it was connected to 5G/LTE.
The US Mobile rep explained, “Basically you should have certain Bands and certain network features in your device for it to work on our network. The device had the bands but not all Network features were available due to that your texts and calls were working but not your data.” I asked for more detailed information, but the rep would not provide any.
I put a Mint Mobile SIM in the Brax3 and it works flawlessly.
From what you say, most likely the BRAX3 is not reading the SIM correctly and is not routing to the APN of the MVNO but to that of the main operator, which probably blocks usage for MVNO customers. It should be enough to configure a new APN with the MVNO’s data and have it selected as the default. Here in Spain, it’s simpler because the operators and MVNOs that operate on a network share the APN, and they assign network priorities by MSISDN and IMSI.
Best regards.
Please mark the post with the correct APNs as the solution so others will find it.
I had not realized that US Mobile (Dark Star - ATT) is working, their help a few weeks back indicated only their Light Speed (TMobile) network would work.
As AT&T themselves won’t register the device, this is worth promoting for users that need an AT&T compatible option.
My friend’s phone, also on US Mobile Dark Star, has “ereseller” entered in both fields. I can’t imagine that would make any difference since the first field is a user defined name (I believe), but maybe it’s worth trying.
