Important Notes

  • Network compatibility is subject to change. Mobile carriers regularly update their systems and device whitelists, which can impact whether a device like BraX3 will work.
  • We are actively maintaining this list to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information available.
  • Compatibility status is based on a combination of: Actual user feedback, Official telco documentation or approval, Publicly available network specs and support information

Community Contributions Welcome

If you notice a discrepancy between the table and your personal experience—whether positive or negative—we encourage you to share it in the comments below.

For example:

  • If a carrier listed as not compatible is actually working for you
  • Or if a carrier listed as compatible is giving you issues with activation or service

Your feedback helps us—and the whole community—stay informed.

Note: Comments in this topic are automatically deleted every 30 days, to keep the most recent feedback front and center.

We’re grateful for your support and your input as we continue refining compatibility and making BraX3 the best it can be for everyone.

In regards to the supported providers in Ireland, my provider is GOMO but it’s not listed here. I know it is owned by one of the listed providers, Eir Mobile. Please let me know if GOMO is fully compatible or not. Thanks

Hey Billy. Yes, GOMO is compatible.
The BraX3 supports all band frequencies in Ireland. And none of the Irish telcos require an additional device approval process to provide service.

…and I thought I am special, lucky and the only one … I thought you love only me, turns out… rest of the world can get it too. You better make a deal with China for parts to assamble your phones.

Three UK compatibility doesn’t seem fully compatible. Smarty’s customer service (Smarty is a sub-brand of Three UK) are saying VoLTE calls won’t work (they say the phone OEM (BraxTech) hasn’t worked with them to enable support) and network connection dips in and out randomly.

That’s strange. We’ve had customers test the device with Three UK and never had issues reported. We’ve shipped quite a few BraX2 devices in the UK as well, and again - no issues reported. Maybe it’s a new process to get an approval.

I’ve added Smarty as partially compatible in the list. Thank you for reporting.

It’s possible things have changed since Three UK’s merger with Vodafone UK and sharing access to each other’s networks or with Smarty/Three UK’s handset support setup.

I’ll see if I can try Three UK Pay As You Go directly with Three UK and report back any findings.

After a few weeks of trying to get a Giffgaff eSIM to work in my Brax3, I have today been told the following:

“Thanks for your patience on this. Unfortunately your phone won’t be able to be used with a giffgaff eSim.

The team have advised that your are using using an eSIM-compatible device, but it’s not appearing to be compatible with our giffgaff eSIM. Currently, the only options available are to continue using a physical SIM.

The device is not on the supported list.

https://www.giffgaff.com/sim-onboarding/choose-sim-b?sku=BD078

If you require any further assistance, please let me know.”

Note: Giffgaff runs on the O2 network in the UK.

Are you able to get network on giffgaff with a physical SIM?

In the UK, ID Mobile (carrier 3 or “Three”) works on 4G with 3G services shortly to be decommissioned. However, since the latest update, mobile signal strength is very poor indoors and drops more often than it is available. For comparison a Lineage OS (23.0) phone, much older Moto g32, on the exact same network and located immediately next to the Brax3 has perfect and even strong signal.

Which OS version were you running before the update, and which OS version did you update to that you believe caused the poor connectivity?

Also, how about 5G connectivity - were you not getting any before and after?

HI Plamen,

Yes, I am successfully using the physical SIM slot with a Giffgaff SIM. I need to use the eSIM for my second line so now I know Giffgaff does not support it I am switching just the 2nd line to another operator.

Thanks for confirming.
That’s a first - able to use their physical sim, but somehow not their eSIM due to incompatibility. Have they shared more detail on what’s missing exactly in the brax3 that’s preventing connectivity? If you can get info on it that will be great. If not , we will try to do a research on our end.

The only other relevant information I am aware of are:

  • They seem to have had a massive amount of issues implementing eSIMs in the past judging by all the threads in their forum.
  • The method they use works via their app which must be installed on the phone.
  • I had a physical SIM and followed their process to convert it to an eSIM. The app then said: “Great. Your eSIM is now ready to download and install on this phone”, with an option underneath to “Install eSIM”. However, using the “Install eSIM” option always lead to a failure message which was not at all detailed or informative.
  • They did ask me to enable marketing tracking cookies to help them trace the issue but unsurprisingly I declined.
  • They issued an update to their app and asked me to try again but the result was the same then after a few days I got the reply I posted above saying the phone is unsupported for their eSIMs.

I’ve tried out a physical Three UK sim on my Brax3. The nework sometimes was randomly switching to No Service at the top (this was also the case with Smarty) until I manually set Three UK’s main APN to be used, Wi-Fi calling doesn’t work (after a few seconds it says Server Unreachable), calls sometimes use 3G instead of VoLTE despite 3G calling being deprecated and mostly removed from Three UK’s network (they don’t have a 2G network so 3G calling has historically been used as a fallback if VoLTE isn’t working). VoLTE seems to work when it decides to be used though the UI calls it 4G calling.

I’ll talk to Three UK customer support about the Wi-Fi calling.

Thanks for the feedback. Will be great to hear what they have to say on this too.

So Three UK blamed the Wi-Fi calling on my router (specifically EWifi not working. Never heard of EWifi before) and not the phone. After talking with my ISP, I am getting a new router and hopefully that fixes it. But in the mean time I can confirm that without Wi-Fi calling enabled 3G and VoLTE/4G Calls work fine on a physical sim.
