BraX3 Telco Compatibility – United States

My question was if there is a competitive plan on tmobile. But your answer left me with more questions. Have you personally observed anyone having success doing this with the IMEI for verizon? How to find unique numbers so as to not mistakenly use another users? If you use another users that could cause a conflict with the radio towers right?

I remember posts about that, search in the search bar. You use some old IMEI from another phone. Verizon blocks the IMEI, if you are indeed missing frequencies then you may notice lower speed.

I spent around an hour searching and reading on it and it looks rough, particularly jamieSG69’s posts concern me of additional problems that can be encountered when attempting an IEMI Verizon attempt.

Read Brax3 doesn’t cover some of their bands, hopefully Brax4 covers all the bands considering one of the selling points of this device is this capability to change IMEI maneuver these service provider pay to play licensing hurdles (Brax3 is not Verizon approved because they didnt pay Verizon 100k+ $)

Anyone can link me to a post where someone got it to work with Verizon please do. Also do these tools work on other smartphones? Thanks.

Those tools are only for Mediatek and they support specific SoCs only.

In general, newer gen phones support more bands. It first starts with the flagship chips and then trickles down eventually to the more budget chips, like the one on the BraX3.
I wouldn’t say the big issue is band compatibility, but rather lack of interest from telcos to embrace a project like the BraX3 (probably because they don’t think it will sell on their shelf, so they won’t bother). Nothing on our site speaks to them, they’re happy doing business with apple, samsung.

Curious about these “In the process of getting approved for AT&T service” which have been in process for ever. Can we get an update on the “process?” Is the process permanently “in process?” Do we need to shut it down with task manager, and restart the process? If it isn’t going anywhere, then it is not in process. PLEASE update us with something to indicate the process is actually being processed? I’m concerned the process is in the circular filing cabinet with apple cores and banana peels rotting on top.

What do you expect to change after the approval?

Compatibility.

It’s compatible, it doesn’t block the IMEI.

Yes, it does. I’ve already tried to connect it, and even was on tech support with the company. Every call only has a recorded message of no service, and they told me it is not an approved IMEID and will not work.

Change the IMEI to some other compatible phone, don’t expect them to change their mind.

I imagine that you can even buy a 4G simple call phone and flash this IMEI, you’ll keep it spare for when Brax3 is off.

I second this. It is reasonable to expect this information to be updated and for users or potential users to know the status so they can make informed decisions.

When people have issues or questions they should be able to ask them without condescending responses.

Brax3 generally is for a more advanced poweruser base, so if all the bands are present it doesn’t matter if telcos “embrace” the project because we could just IMEI swap the device to compatibility am I right?

We’re at a standstill, still. We have a scheduled meeting with their team at MWC early next month.
