I installed my ATT sim card from Brax2 to Brax3, everything seems to be working fine, despite the fact that I got a message from ATT saying that “the new device you are trying to activate is not compatible with ATT.”
I suppose we’ll see if it keeps working or if they some how shut it down.
It seems that it is working for most people.
If it’s working for you now, it’s very unlikely that it stops working. That scenario hasn’t been reported yet on either BraX2 or BraX3.
With Brax2, I changed the IMEI to a Pixel4 (Rob’s) and ATT then recognized the Brax2 as a supported device.
With Brax3, I was forced to drop the same [Brax2-ATT] SIM in there, when Signal Messenger stopped working in Brax2 for good, without altering the IMEI.
Just to clarify.
I am excited, I find the experience of BraX3 to be much much improved over the Brax2, in all aspects.
Just FYI, PureTalk, the mvno (for AT&T), no longer supports Brax3 phones. They supported my Brax2 the entire time I used it. I’m on RedPocket now and so far all is working.
Thank you for your feedback. Do you know if you’re surfing on TMO or on AT&T network when using Red Pocket? Last time we checked, they were offering to surf on both?
Is there any ETA on ATT support for Brax3? Or an indication of how long the approval process will take?
Currently on PureTalk (i.e., ATT), and would prefer not to switch, but I would like to use my phone.
Thank you!
Thank you! I was feeling sooo down when I couldn’t connect to Tello today. I copied exactly what you had and fixed it. Really helped copy/pasting instead of fumbling around with links. Thank you so much! I can’t say that enough
I didn’t even know what APN was, I had to look that up, and I found it in the phone, and it was simply ATT. There are some other APN options with ATT with some words next to ATT, and I haven’t tried those.
Admittedly, I really don’t watch much media on my phone, and Signal and Telegram worked, and I could browse ok, so I didn’t look any deeper into the data connection of the phone. But the other day, I wanted to watch Rob’s new Rumble video, and it cut after a few minutes, and it wouldn’t play no matter what I did. So I ran the SpeedTest.net, and it was at 14Mbps. ATT in San Francisco supposed to be much speedier, the same speedtest on my wife’s phone is at 120Mbps. Caveat: I realized that I was using 4G/LTE as opposed to 5G on my wife’s phone. That may have something to do with the data network speed.
Before I figured out I was strictly on 4G, I was thinking that ATT must be throttling my data connection, but even so things are not as rosy as I thought they were. I’d like to figure out why the data speed is so low.
Something else that could affect this, when on 4G, is that the BraX3 supports 6 out of the 8 AT&T 4G LTE bands (it’s missing Band 29 and Band 30). While the ones missing are not core bands, connectivity could still be affected.
Anybody out there using a Brax phone on Pure Talk? If so, what has been your experience? The compatibility chart says that their carrier, AT&T, is in process of being approved, or maybe, it’s PureTalk that’s getting approved… a little vague on that…
As I have reckoned the “approval” means that they don’t block your IMEI, from there on you may have problems in specific areas depending on what frequencies are used by the towers.
Hi I was thinking of getting a brax3 but am not sure due to carrier comparability issues with Verizon. I know of a Verizon based service plan that can basically get you unlimited everything for around $20-30 a month. But I never seen one this cheap on TMobile, does anyone know of one competitive like this and has experience with it working on Brax3?
Officially Verizon doesn’t work on Brax3, I think it blocks the IMEI, some users change the IMEI to some supported one like an old Pixel or Apple one but you have to go through LunarOS to change the IMEI. You do it on your own responsibility.
