Brax3 unstable with 6.9 update

This morning I started using my Brax3 and immediately noticed that the display was unstable while the updater showed that version 6.9 was available for download.

I reboot the phone, hoping to get stable operation but it began to behave worse: if I opened an app or the updater the phone would reboot itself.

So after rebooting I set the phone aside for a bit.

I logged back in (pin lock screen), ran the updater, downloaded version 6.9, and updated to 6.9 (from version 6.8).

After reboot the display was still unstable, and after a few more taps it would reboot itself. Repeatedly.

Finally, the phone rebooted and would not let me unlock it with my pin number, saying that the pin number was incorrect.

I still cannot get past the lock screen.

I was able to verify that the the phone was updated to version 6.9.

Someone else has reportedly had that PIN issue you mention.

In lieu of any other suggestions I’d suggest you need to try and factory reset the phone and get a clean reinstall and see if issue persists - if it does probably need a hardware replacement.

So I did a factory reset and about 20 minutes in while preparing the phone it started rebooting itself repeatedly.

I just wanted to let you know that this is escalated to the iode devs. I will follow up when there are any news.

Do you believe that this is a software problem and not a hardware problem?

Should I wait or try to return the phone for repairs or replacement?

I tried to start the return process but according to the response that I copied and pasted in this thread above it seems support doesn’t want the phone.

I was reported on the Iode community forums a week or two ago… same issue. The user ended up factory resetting the device.

You should put replacement device needed or similar in the subject line along with your original order number, and then link to this thread in the email.

That way you will get a human response faster as it shows you’ve already done trouble shooting, etc.

Right - I can never remember which forum I see something’s on some of the time - and sometimes there’s similar threads on both simultaneously…

My Brax3 phone lock screen is not responding to unlock screen pin. The screen has no respond to any touch. Also, shutdown screen is not responding as well when trying to shutdown or restart. Please assist. The phone has been freezing on/off from the beginning. The phone has the 6.9 update. There is no way to reboot the phone since the screen is not responding to touch. Is there anyway to restart the phone by using the power and volume up/down buttons?

It sounds like you’ve got a bad device, but you can reboot by pressing and holding the power button for 10 or 15 seconds.

Thanks for the tip. I got the device rebooted by holding the power button for 15 seconds. The device works fine after the reboot.
