Browser Isolation Details

I finally got the Brave Browser. The point of what we’re trying to do is prevent tracking. So my first question is:
Is it safe to migrate bookmarks and other information onto the new browser? Wouldn’t it be simple for an AI to recognize… me, if I do that?
Next question:
If I login to accounts like Amazon or Ebay on my new browser, does that damage any previous efforts toward privacy? I think I’m supposed to use a browser for each store login. For example, all things Google on one separate browser for Google only, such as Google search, Ewe2b, and Meta. How do I know which services can be safely grouped into each different browser?
Next question:
Migrating phone data to my new Brax3, when it arrives. Is it safe to do? According to Rob, they can identify you from your contact list. But I think if I never logon, they can’t attach the information to my identity?

I need to get this straight. I know I don’t login to Google on my new Brax3, which will not be a problem, as I haven’t done that on my current phone for years. But it will be the first phone that I can allow myself to actually use the internet. If I login to Amazon, does that give everything away?
Mike

This may seem like too many questions. One may address each question individually, but I think I may be looking for a way to look at it so I can implement it into my philosophy. I plan to review Rob’s videos on this topic again. But if anyone can see the missing links in my chain of logic and teach me the missing links, I should be able to answer all my own questions.
Alot of questions, but all I need is a quick recap of how it works.

You might find these videos from Techlore on YT useful to get you started:

Why I Almost Exclusively Use Brave, Mullvad & Tor Browser

Debloat Brave Browser | Minimal Brave Tutorial

P.S. I loosely follow a similar approach to him in the first video - Mullvad is my default browser for opening ad hoc links or doing ‘one-off’ browsing of pages I don’t usually access.

Brave is my everyday browser for all my regular day to day site activity and anything involving account access or signing in to use a site, whether regularly or semi-regularly, etc.

@MikeL5280 still looking for some help?

Ok… I have severe brain injury and categories swim around on me. I’m not sure if I should indicate this is solved and make a new topic or continue with this one. Mycenius clued me in to what I really am looking for. I need several different people to explain what their philosophy and practice of browser isolation is. How do they do it? The way Mycenius explained it was very good. A little variation in practice will clue me in further to what areas or categories are flexible and which will expose users when flexed.
I’ve been rebuilding the front end of my car and haven’t had time to review Rob’s videos like I’ve wanted. The last video gave me 4 points:

  1. Never upload contact list. (I guess I do still potentially have questions for this thread… When you install a new browser, they always want to migrate contacts and bookmarks. My guess is ‘don’t do that’. Am I correct?)
  2. Use a different email for every platform.
  3. Use a different phone number for 2FA.
  4. Use alternate methods for 2FA if allowed.
Which services can I logon to on which platforms?
I think Rob said he uses Chromium for ewe2b. I can’t remember. I need to review the videos.
If anyone else can explain how they practice browser isolation, that will help me to develope a philosophy and practice of my own.

did you create a braxmail email ? I could send you mlne if you want

That sounds like a good basic start up step that I would unintentionally overlook. Please, send me yours. I’m hoping it will include a link to create one. Wait… isn’t Braxmail one of the services offered on Brax store? My payment card will be empty until I sell a motorcycle I used all my money to buy. If I can use the service free, I’ll take it. If not, I have to wait until I get some fundage on my card.
But dude, thank you.

Hope that car coming together, on my laptop I use Brave, Chromium and Mullvad then Thunderbird for email. Brave maybe best for day to day use Chromium for Google, I never login and weaned off Google 100% now. I never migrate contacts to browsers, they stay in email. Pretty much do the same for phone but I don’t share between laptop & phone. Same email accounts on both. I backup both devices (docs and account details)to a portable hard drive, plus I keep written record of passwords etc. Messaging is standard SMS, Signal and Session. Hope this helps, don’t sell the bike, you’ll miss it! Cheers

Goosie - This is helpful. I’m starting to get a silhouette of what this should look like. The car front end is done and aligned. Next for that vehicle is timing belt. I’m only about 60,000 miles overdue. The bike I’m selling is build for a short person (less than 5’ 5"). I’m over 6 feet. And I have another bike. It fits me much better. If the Vulcan was my only bike, I’d keep it. But the VTX fits me much better.
Thank you for illustrating your browser isolation techniques.
