One of the draws of the BraX3 was the firewall built into iodéOS. Will there be similar software in the Wink? What inspired the choice to make a new Android distro instead of sticking with iodéOS?
We will also support that feature.
There are a few reasons we decided to build our own OS:
- We can do more OS features than the average custom ROM, since we control the design of the hardware
- There are a lot of features our community is asking for and we’d love to introduce on our hardware. Features lacking from custom ROMs currently
- We’re building security hardening features, specific to our hardware
We will be sharing more information as the projects progresses.
Having said that, Brax Wink will still be custom ROM friendly. We will actively support custom ROM maintainers in porting and supporting their OS on our hardware. The features we will be building on BraxOS, will be features other custom ROM devs can utilize on Brax Devices (hardening, attestation, etc.)

BraxOS. YES PLEASE. this is great news! for some I was reading too fast. I did not realize you guys where rolling our your own OS. Will I be able to use it on the Brax3 and the Slate?
