I am attempting to transfer my AT&T cellular service (USA) from a de-googled Pixel 5 (Calyx) to a de-googled Pixel 8 running Iodé 7.7. According to AT&T, the e-SIM is on my Pixel 8 (I can see it) but for some reason, I am not receiving the “set up carrier e-sim” notification from AT&T on the Pixel 8 that will allow me to get cellular service on the phone. (AT&T does not use physical SIM cards.) According to AT&T, the e-SIM is on my phone and they don’t know why I’m not receiving that notification from them (over wi-fi, which is on and strong) that will activate the e-SIM and allow the phone to have cell service. I just turned off the Iodé firewall in case that might be an issue? I’m wondering if there might be a problem related to Iodé? Note: I need to keep AT&T as my cellular service provider; I’m on a legacy unlimited data family plan that is also for me, free. Hoping someone can help.

Most modern Android phones (including Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel) support direct transfer. During the new phone’s initial setup, select Transfer SIM from Another Device or Transfer eSIM from Cloud. Keep both phones unlocked, close, and connected to Wi-Fi with Bluetooth on. You may need to enter a 6-digit verification code displayed on the new phone into the old phone to authorize the transfer. If setup is already complete, go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs, select Add SIM, and choose Transfer SIM from another device.
thanks Raajah. i appreciate it! i was able to solve the prob. by downloading the AT&T app onto the new phone, and then activating the device. the app provided the QR that had been missing. so, i took a pic of it with my old phone, then scanned the QR code using my new phone. that provided the missing download that wasn’t being pushed out from AT&T. AT&T said there was no alternative to them pushing out that notification. they were incorrect! cheers, -R
