Can’t connect with my Brax 3 for mobile data. (Orange Belgium, APN Mobistar).
I saw Orange Belgium is in the ‘green’ list, maybe Mobistar is the issue?
How can I resolve this please?
(Wifi doesn’nt work either, but I know there’s an issue with JRS ecowifi routers.)
Orange Belgium should definitely work.
Will be best to reach out to their support and ask what could be the reason for not getting a service. They will probably need your IMEI number to confirm.
While we’re yet to get a report of an issue with IMEI number written on a BraX3 device, please check if your IMEI1 and IMEI2 start with 35000216..
Just to confirm, did you enable mobile data?
- System Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Mobile data is active?
Also, I think you are indicating you checked, but can you look here to confirm the APN:
- System Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > (your sim) > Access Point Names shows correct APN settings for your carrier and it is enabled?
Lastly, can you make / receive SMS and Calls (meaning is it only mobile data that isn’t working?)
Ok, I will reach out for their support. The IMEI numbers start indeed with these numbers…
Mobile data is active indeed… APN shows correct + is enabled.
I can receive sms and calls… so it is only data that isn’t working… correct.
The mobile is also showing the mobile phone icon with exclamation mark next to it.
Can you go into the details of the APN to check that Proxy and Port are set according to the provider specs? We did have a case where the defaults had populated them but they were supposed to be left empty for a Romanian user.
Don’t know exactly what you mean… This is what I found in the APN details:
proxy: 212.65.63.143
port: 8080
Asking AI about provider specs for Orange Belgium I got this:
Orange Belgium does not use a public proxy server or specific ports for general internet use by customers. By default, the internet connection is provided directly through the modem (router), without a proxy.
Important points:
No proxy: Customers surf directly through their own IP address. There is no need to manually configure a proxy in your browser or device.
Ports: Orange does not block specific ports by default, but some ports (such as port 25 for email sending) can be blocked to prevent spam. For most applications (such as gaming, streaming, and web services), ports are freely accessible.
Does this help?
The information shows that you need to remove the proxy and port information, as the default you have now has those values entered, but the carrier does not expect them. This is why you can’t connect.
To fix this, you will need to create a new APN, copying the details from the existing one, except leaving the Proxy and Port fields empty. You can give it a “Name” of whatever you like, this field is not sent to the carrier.
Basically, I think all you need to enter is some Name (again only for you), and then put in the APN field from your existing entry (you list proxy and port but what is the actual APN?)
I did something similar now I guess
and it works: there was another APN I could choose, called ‘Telenet’. When I look at the details of this one, the proxy and the port are indeed empty. Telenet is another provider here in Belgium (not mine however), but it works this way… So I think it’s good?! Or should I do it still the way you suggest (I think the outcome will be the same, no? Thank you for your help! Very happy now ![]()
Congrats! Under the “Telnet” APN is the actual apn entry the same? The descriptive name is not sent. So if they are they same the no worries.
If they are different but it is still working for you, I guess it is up to you
It must be that one of those providers are a MVNO (reseller of the parent network), in which case there are sometimes differences but both usually work interchangeably. In short, “whatever works works!”
The actual APN entry is not the same: one says: telenetwap.be, the other one mworld.be
But like you say: if it works, it works… don’t think I am gonna change it for now ![]()
Again, thx a lot for your help… you’re doing a great job guys!!
