Didn't get a Sim card

Got my Brax phone a few months ago, decided to see about setting it up. I get to th epoint where it says SIM Card MIssing. It says “To insert a SIM card, read the instructions that came with your device.”

What do I do? Should I go buy a SIM card from Best Buy? Will that work?

It took a long time to get this phone, it looks cool, assuming there’s no IDF explosives in it like the pagers….

So buy a SIM card and continue?

Also, should I get another number from AT&T for this phone, to try it out? Before deciding whether to move my main number over?

Thanks for any guidance.

Open the tray with the tool included in the box and insert your SIM in one of the slots. If it isn’t recognized reboot the phone or open an close the tray again. The card can be placed correctly in one way only due to the shape of the card. You can also use an eSIM but leave it for later.

You will insert your SIM, there is no SIM included in the package.

Phones do not typically come with SIM cards unless you buy them from the cellular service provider. The SIM card is how you connect with your cellular provider and is linked to the phone number. In your case that means AT&T.

Most people who do not intend to use multiple phones will remove the SIM from their current device and put it in the Brax3. This is a good time to test the functionality of phone calls, text messages, wifi data, mobile data, etc. If everything is functioning then you can begin adjusting any settings, downloading apps, and transferring data from your previous phone. This can take a few days so you might use both phones for a period of time and just switch the SIM card back and forth between the phones as needed.

Here is a link to a Brax3 compatibility chart for cellular providers and MVNOs BraX3 Telco Compatibility – United States There is also a separate chart for Europe as well as one for The Rest of the World. Unfortunately, this chart is not well maintained in my opinion. It states that currently AT&T and AT&T based MVNOs are not compatible. Yet this has never been entirely true as many people have reported success with AT&T and AT&T MVNOs. My suggestion is to try your AT&T SIM to see if it works (Also if it ever stops working for you it can be for reasons other than compatibility so I would suggest checking here if you were to have issues in the future.)
