I’m coming from using an Android that had dual SIM cards. On the Android, I was able to set different ringtones for each SIM card. How do I do that on the Brax?
@StuN Welcome to the community!
The Brax3 allows 2 simultaneous SIM profiles, but only one physical SIM card, so the second phone number will have to be on an eSIM. I once experimented with that configuration, but I no longer have this physical SIM in my Brax3. I never tried different ringtones for different SIM profiles, but apparently, if you go to Settings->Sound & Vibration->Phone Ringtone, you should see separate ringtone options for each active SIM profile
Thanks for the welcome.
I have gone to the settings you mentioned, but there is only one Ringtone option. It does not list the SIM and eSIM separately. I only see one option for a ringtone. If I call either of my numbers, the same ringtone rings.
Is there an upgrade I should do? I’ve only had the phone for a day, so I’m learning on the fly.
Thanks for the help.
@StuN Don’t upgrade anything yet.
@rik Do you know if IodeOS has support for different ringtones for each of the active SIM profiles?
So they developed a dual-SIM phone without testing if the OS would fully support dual SIMs?
I did check the IodeOS website and they offer a Sony X71, that has dual SIMs. I’m just assuming because it’s available, that it works.
I have tested the phone just by calling both of my numbers from a landline. The phone rings for both numbers, however it will only use one ringtone for either number, and when it rings, there is no way to tell which number the call is for. Defeats the whole purpose of having dual SIMs, doesn’t it?
Does anyone know if they are offering returns on the Brax3, or do I need to try and sell it on Ebay?
Dual ringtones would be a feature that is purely dependent on the OS, not the hardware. If IodeOS does not support that, then you are out of luck.
I can confirm that the Brax3 does support one physical SIM and one eSIM to be active simultaneously, with IodeOS.
As for returns, you will need to contact [email protected]
Thank you very much. I really appreciate your input.
