I’ve been using the phone wirh Fossify Messages for several months now without issues. I’ve had several IodeOS upgrades and several Fossify updates all without issue.
Over the last week, I’ve started having problems with symptoms that I can’t send 2 sentence messages or photo attachments to individuals.
I broke one text into 2 separate sentences and sent and that went okay.
I know the latest IodeOS was recently installed.
Can anyone advise on how i might fix this or what has changed?
Using org.fossify.messages 1.6.0 using the 2025-11-09 release of iodeos 6.9, I was just now able to successfully send a 12.0MB image via MMS, as well as an SMS message of “Now is the time. She said nothing.” So, I can’t duplicate the problem. You might have better luck reporting the problem at https://github.com/FossifyOrg/Messages/issues .
Thanks. I did manage to “send” a longer text although it had a good think about it. What carrier were you using? Im on T-Mobile.
No change in not being able to send photo though.
I’ll post as you suggest.
Just a thought - you aren’t trying to send a photo that’s larger than usual? There are data caps on basic MMS, usually between 50kb and 300kb roughly, depending on the carrier. So if you are trying to send a larger image it will always fail…
P.S. Also replied on iodé community:
I have the resize limit set at 600kb which is how it always has been since I started using the app. U even trued dropping it to 300kb and then 100kb but made no difference. I did have an odd result when I tried sending and when it “froze” on “sending”, i deleted it. About an hour later it turned up on the addressee phone. Makes me wonder if this is a carrier issue
You have a very generous telco carrier if that works ![]()
I have mine at 200kb.
It may well be the case - have you rechecked all your APN settings are correct for your carrier?
Yes. They are set correctly
I get the same sometimes on Fossify. Just hangs on sending, usually for mms, but sometimes on a standard text. If i delete it and resend, the other person gets it x2.
It seems to have resolved for me with the latest hotfix and a change of apn settings. I think before i was relying on the network service (which is sporadic) when i thought i was using wifi calling (works for sms too). Now i have that sorted it seems ok because im forcing a wifi calling connection. Fwiw ![]()
Can you walk me thru what you did please? I find it odd that this behavior has only started recently and Fossify just did an update. Also I note that IodeOS have been trying to fix a long standing WiFi issue. Maybe just coincidence but you know what they say ![]()
I reiterate, everything has been working fine since I first got my phone so something has happened in the last week.
Well i conteacted my service provider to verify apn settings (they changed and if i reset carrier settings as required by the hotfix they were lost again)
This ensured wifi calling was possible. I turned off my sim amd went into aeroplane mode for 30 secs, and turned it back on in an area of known good mobile service, to register the wifi calling with the carrier.
I then had wifi calling and texting. My assumption was that my sms were hanging because of poor network reception, and it wasn’t dropping back to wifi, which it now does.
Might not be relevant to you, but thays my story and i’m sticking to it ![]()
You may be on to something as i tried a reverse test of sending an attachment to my Brax3 and that was not received at the Brax3 although it looks sent from the other phone
The problem is with the carrier. Apparently they’ve been doing network repairs in the area. Turning off wifi and then sending on regular network seemed to clear the issue and allow me to then return to wifi again.
Thanks for all support received
Good work. Glad its sorted ![]()
