Getting ready to try a Verizon SIM in my Brax3 - any tips?

The Verizon reseller (Twigby) told me its IMEA was incompatible. So I signed up with a spare Brax 6a.

But I intend to try running the Brax3 with the Twigby SIM in it. Anybody got tips?

(we live deep rural and only Verizon works well out here)

Search is your friend - see below post with a list of US Telcos - Verizon (and as a result Twigby) is not supported on BraX3 (or rather, as I understand, Verizon is too hard for BraX3 to get ā€œapprovedā€ for it’s network) - so not likely to get stable connectivity:

I assume you meant a Pixel 6a in your first sentence - you might be able to spoof the IMEI from that on the BraX3 to get the SIM to work in it - but not sure if it’d be worth the hassle?

Thanks for the chart.

Looks like I can choose freely from all the physical networks, as long as I choose T-Mobile. I don’t have time to delve into flashing, spoofing etc. I’ll just run that spare Brax Pixel 6a under CalyxOS for now.

I will delete my responses to you on the Brax3 chat at Brax.me to free up space there since you have decided not to use flashing on your BraX3.

Edit: I forgot to add this:
ā€œas long as I choose T-Mobileā€ - LOL my sentiments also!

Somebody else might use your info.

That’s how forums work.

You’re right, which is why I have posted the information multiple times, but then it gets archived. I’m attempting to make a blog so I can just link to the blog, which is not working for me yet.
Edit: I got creating the blog to work by changing my user name from Teacup to Sunset2, weird but now I can just use the Shareid feature rob created, yea!

Vzn does work on BraX3 IF you flash a pxl IMEI and leave the OS on Lunar.

Well if it works, go for it! ā€œOfficiallyā€ its not supported.

In the past, some devices don’t support a particular frequency that VZ uses to initiate a connection. I talked about it in another thread… but if you can provide users with a workable procedure to make it work, you will truly be a hero!!!

But… Lunr does come with it’s own issues…

Plamen has already published the instructions here to flash the OS’s and IMEI’s. Our BraX3’s work great on Vzn since we don’t bother with 5G. Hubby travels, no problem.
Hmm, not sure about issues with Lunar OS, we haven’t experienced any.

But here is the thing… most of the people who bought this device bought it for the Iode… so I’m not sure how it’s all gonna pan out for them. Most of them cannot roll to lunr due to tech challenges. If that makes sense.

I couldn’t say about the ā€˜most people’ buy it for iode, it had nothing to do with us buying the phones & I actually like Lunar better since I didn’t like trebuchet using half the notification screen. I get it about the tech challenge, but I’m not advocating it for ā€˜anyone’ purchasing a BraX3, just those who investigate how they might get Vzn to work, because there are MANY people in RURAL areas in the US who only have Vzn as an option for cell coverage, yet want privacy/repairable and to support the project, like we did. :slightly_smiling_face:
