Any solutions to being able to do this?
Welcome to the community.
Are you using a VPN?
Certain VPNs are blocked by youtube.
Download an app like NewPipe from F-Droid and see if that works.
Thanks.
No VPN. Just standard Brax 3 out of the box a week ago.
What exactly is happening? Are you being prompted to sign into Youtube in order to view every video?
Hi, I spent ages setting things up yesterday and youtube is working now. I did so many things that don’t remember exactly which setting it was that solved it but it’s good now.
The other problem I have is when I text a new number I am not getting their response. Which is quite a problem. For business especially!
Are you ex-iPhone?
If you are did you deregister iMessage & Facetime for your number?
I was iphone. a few years back and no I’ve never deregister my number for those. That would explain why I had the same problem with my previous decentralised phone too! Thank you! I’ll look up how to do that.
Seems like that has solved it. Thanks so much.
The last problem I am having (other than not being able to connect to wifi which I saw on here is awaiting a solve) is using Telegram it doesn’t give me any notifications until I open it. (despite all notifications being set to on). Any idea how to fix this?
No problem.
Can’t help you with Telegram specifically sorry as I won’t use it…
But it general it sounds like you have missed a permission somewhere. Also keep in mind push notifications can bypass your privacy settings and undermine them…
Check permissions in Settings/Apps/See all [#] apps/Telegram.
By the way, there used to be a FOSS version of Telegram. I installed it from F-Droid, but I can’t seem to find it now. But I did find two FOSS forks of Telegram, Forkgram and Mercurygram. Might be worth checking out.
Thanks.
Do they communicate with people that are on Telegram?
I haven’t tried out these apps, but I would think they would being that the apps are forks of Telegram. Try them out if they’re right for your needs, and let us know what you think of them
I think this is to do with micro g and registering the phone with "google’. Search for micro g, enter additional app settings and reregister. As far as i know, it has nothing to do with google, but it is a requirement to receive notifications for certain apps, Telegram being one of them
The FreeTube app works good and blocks ads:
