Inquiry regarding hardware-level display specifications and eye-health features

Dear Brax Technologies Team,

I am writing to inquire about the technical specifications of the displays used across your current and upcoming product lineup, specifically the BraX3, Brax Wink, and Posthuman 00.

I highly appreciate your company’s commitment to open-source software, data sovereignty, and user privacy. As I evaluate your devices for a potential purchase, I am also looking closely at hardware-level eye health and retinal comfort, particularly regarding high-energy blue light emissions and display dimming mechanics.

Could you kindly provide a bit more technical insight on the following display characteristics for these devices?

  • Blue Light Mitigation: Do any of your panels incorporate hardware-level blue-light shifting (such as shifting the emissive peak out of the harmful 415–455nm retinal danger zone into the safer 460–465nm spectrum), or do your devices rely entirely on software-level amber filters within the OS?
  • Dimming & Flicker Profile: What dimming mechanisms are utilized for the compact OLED screens on the Wink and Posthuman 00? Do they implement high-frequency Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) dimming, hybrid dimming, or hardware DC dimming to mitigate invisible flicker and optic nerve strain?

Thank you for your time, your dedication to ethical hardware, and your assistance in helping me understand the structural profile of your screens. I look forward to hearing from you.
