I’m liking 7.3 beta also. Looking forward to getting it on my Daily Brax 3
I saw someone post somewhere the link to get the beta updater. So I’ve had it on my phone for a while. I guess I should be testing it on my WiFi only phone first. Oh well, I’ve not had that big of problems to not use my device so far.
Would you happen to know where they talk about the beta stuff or do you have to actually be a beta tester?
One of my devices is a beta Brax3 which I test the iodéOS beta releases. For the iodéOS beta release discussions, you need to ask the iodéOS developers for the link at https://community.iode.tech/
Thanks for the info.
@Nersplitch The betas are in this directory, ota / betas · GitLab, you download the *.brax3-ota.zip and choose Local update in the updater, 3 dots upper right corner.
The regular updates are in brax3 · master · ota / release · GitLab
I love how all this software is available to us now to play with…a couple in Android and one in Linux!![]()
I’m still on 6.3 until I get enough feedback the updates stable before I do it ![]()
Been in the auto industry too long haha never jump in first.
Along as staying put for the moment won’t cause issues!
I’m already on 7.3, it’s stable but bugs come and go with every monthly update. Which one will you consider stable? You should already start downloading the *ota.zip files before they disappear, 7.1 and 7.2 are still there. On 6.3 you might have problem with some WiFis, it was fixed on 6.11.
Ah. I’ve just left it at what it came with.
Probably also a bad habit since I stopped updating my Android in 2020 as I didn’t trust it.
Stayed at Android 10 until they forced me to update with threats of disconnect.
Also have to navigate how to do it!
In the open-source landscape excluding the fear of something breaking suddenly it’s good to update, even in stock Android they are already watching, no point staying on older versions.
If you don’t archive the updates you’ll have access only to the last 2, now you can go to 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 .
Download the final releases from here, brax3 · master · ota / release · GitLab
The betas are here, ota / betas · GitLab, get the Brax3 one, iode-7.4-20260321-brax3-ota.zip · master · ota / betas · GitLab
Transitional updater needed for 6.x to 7.x transition, to be removed again after update, fixes/Updater-v6-to-v7.apk · master · ota / ota · GitLab
You may have to reconfigure your APN after the update.
It was more the changes being made than it breaking when it came to the Samsung ![]()
Yes, I may have to sit and learn or phone a friend haha
Truly appreciate the guidance ![]()
Questions. Can you say if all the phones to replace is well upto date? Are they’re going to encounter the same problems as well?
It’s very easy to do it manually and you should know how to do it because things break occasionally, it’s more comfortable to know how things actually work especially when you’re dealing with modified devices out of the original scope.
Hi George,
My update says its blocked. So will have to try the manual way you advised.
However I am still learning. You said we may need to reconfigure our apn?
Are you able to possibly point me in the right direction to learn about this so I will know if it is required before starting the manual process? If you don’t mind. Thank you
Write down the APN settings and if you have problem with the calls or mobile internet you’ll delete the APN and add it again with the same settings.
Settings > Network & internet > SIMs , the APN is at the bottom of the list.
I have a question about updating the Brax3. I purchased one for myself and one for a friend during the first release. My phone is only up to date to 6.9. The other phone was initially set up over wifi with no sim. I am now ready to deliver the phone to my friend. It is still on the original build of Iode that it was shipped with. What is the highest build number that I can update to using the original updater?
It would be 6.13 but those updates have been removed.
