We just tested this and can not reproduce the issue. USB tethering works as expected on 7.6 - PC gets internet connection from BraX3 via the USB tethering?
Are you maybe trying a reverse tethering (receiving internet connection on your BraX3 from your PC)? If so, you will need a third party app as it is not a native android feature.
No, it doesn’t work, and I recall that first time I reported it last year the first response was also that it works, and after support’s deeper tests they confirmed that it actually doesn’t work.
I’m sharing Internet from brax3 to laptops via USB tethering, and while it worked on 7.5, it doesn’t work after the 7.6 update. I have retested it on different laptops with different OSs. There are more users coming up with the same issue, in this and other thread, too, and as you have already noted, initially, it didn’t work.
Can you, or the devs, check again?
Errmm, all the browsers on my laptop refuse this url: unsecure connection. Firefox at least gives a PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR. I presume the Updater app uses a “different” port nr, because the “free” wifi at the library refuses to connect to anything not using http, and it has some sort of proxy which allows normal https pages thru.
I would rather download the new OS image in a browser, and do a local update. because the size of the files chews a hole in my frugal data plan.
Sorry, my fault, or rather fault is the idiots at the library who broke a perfectly good WPA2 access point by making it “open”; can’t even use imap mail now … I found some more MB and d/ling now.
Installed iodeOS 7.6-20260701-brax3. I can confirm NFC enable switches on-off, what it does I don’t know, I never use it.
USB tethering to a Debian 13.3 laptop appears not to work for me, but that might be me as I have never used this either. Data points: when the phone is plugged in there is a USB notification appears on the phone: tapping on this offers a menu to use USB for
File transfer; USB tethering; MIDI; PTP; No data transfer [charging]. There is also:

These two options for USB tethering are antagonistic, turn one ON turns the other OFF. Which one is right? On the Debian box dmesg -w shows the phone being plugged in, name, maker, S.Nr. but
