Iode OS contacts. Privacy policy?

Checkout the privacy policy and terms of service in the about area of the contacts app.

Im hopjng this is some developers sense of humour but both link to googles policy and terms

That is odd! I just downloaded fossify contacts instead, imported contacts there, set the original contacts app permissions to not allow then disabled it to be sure.

Seems concerning for sure. I just checked in the IODE app. Under ā€œall timeā€ I cannot find any outgoing connections from the contacts app which is something. My guess is that the app only runs locally and does not leak anythingBut I have also switched to Fossify out of caution.

Thanks for pointing that out, this will be changed ! This has remained unchanged from LineageOS and I suppose, from AOSP. If you want to check the code to verify that there’s no leak, it’s here: Files Ā· v6-staging Ā· os / public / lineage / packages_apps_Contacts Ā· GitLab.

EDIT : the change has been pushed!
